In episode three of the most chill car show on RU-vid: Mike tells us about his 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate, a wagon that shares the same LT1 V8 as the Corvette, Camaro Z28, and the Firebird Trans Am. It's the big goofy wagon for people who know.

Oh man this made my day!! I am the proud homemaker-mommy-wagon driving owner of an 04 Volvo Xc70 Cross Country. Loving hubby says it's time to upgrade come 1st quarter..but I don't think I can bear to part with it. It was the first major purchase we made as a married couple. Our 5 year old daughter LOVES it. I have never felt so safe, and my twin brother and I share fond memories of growing up in Raleigh NC with our Mom toting us around in her '85 wood grain Pontiac Parisienne!! Nice to see other wagon afficianados out there! Lord have mercy what I'd give to have a beaut like that to cart our baby girl and her friends around in! Not to mention FAMILY ROAD TRIPS!! I am envious! God bless your Daddy for giving ya'll wonderful memories in your family wagon, and you too for carrying on the tradition!

I have a Buick Roadmaster Limited sedan, a 1994 Lt1 car. While i am more of a sedan guy, the Roadmaster wagons just put a smile on your face that you cant explain. They are the last of an era, a piece of our childhood for many millennials and gen xers. Some would say they are a cult classic, but the people who are really into Roadmasters, they love them and cult just has too much of a negative connotation for a group of enthusiasts that love their cars as much as Roadmaster fans do.

I know the owner very well. There is probably nobody on this planet who knows and loves these vehicles more than him. He has an appreciation for some true oddballs, but can also rebuild a car from scratch and work on pretty much anything. To see anything negative about him posted is disheartening. He's a generous man, a hard worker, and a humble family man.

Wagons are something special nowadays. They harken back to a different era and way of life. Something that a Crossover can't do. Sure they're nice but...they don't have the soul or character. Maybe once they hit the used car market..and earn their quirks. But honestly...nothing compares to a wagon.

I picked up a '94 Roadmaster Wagon from trading my lowered '88 S10 Blazer. I miss my Blazer, but love the wagon. I've always loved wagons. I remember as a kid riding in the back of one while going to Wild Country Safari in Florida with my dad and the family. I yanked my arm at a truck and he blew the horn, nearly scaring everyone. Haha it was awesome! I wanted something that the kids could ride to school in if needed and make memories like that. They like the "throw you into the seat" get up and go that it has and usually tempt me to get on it. Coincidentally I'm doing a GS wagon as well.

I have loved wagons all my life. At 32 I bought my first one last year, a loaded 1990 Buick Estate Wagon. I love it and there is nothing at all made like it anymore. It is rolling Americana at its best! You are lucky that the deer didn't really damage the fenders to badly. The sheets of Colonial Oak Di-Noc are nearly impossible to find now if you had to re-do them, although if you're patient one will show up on eBay from time to time and pretty cheap usually. When new GM wanted over $200 per roll!

Grew up riding in the back of my aunt and uncle's Buick Roadmaster up to the local mountains and lake. Fell asleep every time. I have very fond memories of those trips. Maybe now that is why I drive Volvo wagons. I think I do it not only to haul stuff but reminds me of all of those trips. I prefer Volvo turbo wagons because they are faster, can handle better, easier to work on (older ones) and haul more. I've read a lot of the posts and only the Saab guy picked up on the story of the fellow owners/aficionados helping you restore the car after the deer damage. I was lucky enough to have fellow Volvo owners do the same for me and I do what I can to pay it forward. I'm buying another Volvo wagon and repairing the seller's Volvo 240 speedometer wiring harness at the rear axle.

I had 84 Pontiac Parizienne wagon, then I bought 96 Roadmaster. Made mistake of selling both but with no place to keep and repair them, had to let them go. Then few years ago I saw a 95 for sale in Jacksonville and drove 300 miles to get it. Its nowhere near as nice as this one, but it fulfills the "wagon itch". Oh and that LT1 will surprise you, even with 2.93 gears in the back ;)

I absolutely love station wagons! We had a 1975 Chevy wagon that was Baby Blue and had a 400 cubic inch small block that I rebuilt for my dad when I was 13. He spun a bearing in it racing my cousin in Florida and was absolutely sick over it. So with my rusty tools that had been gathered over the years I put a crank kit in it in the front drive back in the early 80s. It's probably still going somewhere :-) I would love to find another one and restore it.

Love those 90s Buicks. My aunt had a 94 Roadmaster Sedan and i loved that car. I remember getting behind the wheel of it still used to the 4 banger in MY Volvo 240 and giving the pedal the same amount of pressure and spinning the tire (open diff). From then on i became interested in big cars like that and the Ford Crown vic.

I've been wanting a '95 Caprice Classic for a while now. Saw a guy about 18 months ago with one, the interior was completely redone and most surfaces were covered with long shaggy faux fur, he was listening to Snoop Dog... and the best part is he looked exactly like Andy Milonakis. Anyways it wasn't the Caprice wagon it was just the car, but you forget how big these things were until you see them in person.... it's almost like they were made larger than life just to be flashy as apposed for actual function.

I remember riding in the back of my mother's station wagon when I was like 8. It had low headrests on the front seats like this. I got really, really queasy and car sick one day. Like reading a book on a long car trip thru winding roads, and I was going to vomit real bad. I was sitting behind my mother and I didn't really like her that much. So when I violently projectile vomited my breakfast+lunch, it splattered all over the back of her head, all in her hair and everything. Thats my wagon memory.

Just think this is a wagon with the lt1 from the Corvette and my nana may of had the lt1. Yep you heard that right, my nana had a roadmaster wagon. I even rode in it multiple times, the leather seats are more comfortable than my mom's 2010 town and country which most likely have seats made of nylon which feel like strait plastic sitting on it for long periods of time and we are trying to replace the van since we hit a deer and we didn't see any worth in fixing it since we have had numerous expensive repairs. The only issue is that my mom thinks that station wagons are embarrassing while minivans and SUVs are superior despite the van being a lemon since my dad bought it 3 or 4 years ago. It even came with a broken promise of having the front and rear bumpers fixed, I even found a roadmaster wagon at a dealership that is within my dad's budget. But my mom said that she doesn't want a crapped out nana-mobile despite the van being in a condition so bad we totaled it. Also the wagon I found had good mileage while the van is close to having 300,000 miles and possibly have the transmission quit in the middle of a trip.
