Hey I'm almost done with the polyurethane on mine, I used the same color and it looks amazing but the curing time is gonna take roughly 3-4 weeks.

Believe it or not I am 3/4 thru this process and we seem to have doen things almost exactly the same except I chose a black walnut stain and Rubio Mono for my finish. Your videos are excellent. I spent hrs online trying to find "real world" pics and video of this material. Thank you.

Love how the desk came out, but man a 30 day drying time is a bit much lol. I like how you were going for the live edge look by making it curvy.

It is! But that’s only if you use the fancy general finish polyurethane. If you use the minwax brand. It’ll be good to go in 24 hours. Funny you noticed, that was actually a mess up when I got it cut, but I ended up liking it.

For indoor furniture, why use oil-based and not water-based? Isn't it safer because of fumes and off gassing?

yes, but oil based gives a more saturated color

Do you remember what size the metal legs from Etsy were?

Yes, Height: 28 Inches, Width: 29 Inches. 28" tall is the most common height for desks but the butcher block adds another 1.5". So I actually wish it was an inch shorter. Im 5'8" for reference.
