Aventurine at 4k defense can already solo-sustain at moc 12. Anything more is just diminishing loss, and getting that extra damage can help the team kill small enemies faster

I agree with you. So many people trying to make him into a damage dealer and justifying why. But he can do chip damage! he can kill off small enemies!....yeah ok but the effort to optimize this is not worth the benefits might as well just ensure he can sustain and optimize your main DPS/supports instead.

​@@vashthestampede3459Here's my take. Once you get his traces and everything and you put him in the middle(because that actually leads to more shields and damage) anything above 4000 is unnecessary. Even more true for Swarm, simulated universe or pure fiction. Once you reach that, your characters just won't even come close to dying. So, at that point, It only makes sense to invest the rest into damage since he scales from defence and gets 48% more crit rate at that level. Aim for 4000 defence first, if you have left over defence, then reduce it and go for crit damage and crit rate. I personally got a chest that had crit rate main stat which upgraded twice on defense percentage and upgraded twice on crit damage and had a speed substat. I'm able to get the 4k defense with this piece, so, I don't have any reason to want more defense. It's like an enemy having a health of 100 and you do damage of 175. You're just wasting 75 damage. Same idea with this. As long as you get 4000 defense, get other stats. Otherwise just aim for 4k defence. It's because of this reason that it's just better to use Gepard with Acheron due to higher taunt value and optimal usage of the trend lightcone.

​@@vashthestampede3459My take is to build him fully defense until you get 4000 defense, you can survive (take no damage) easily in the hardest content in the game. If you are using Landau's choice lightcone, it's simply not really going to be possible to build him with anything other than def% main stats. Trend is also very very difficult in that manner. From day one of my new life and higher defense lightcones, it's possible to build him with 4k defense and use the other unnecessary defense and put it on offense based things since you can survive without taking damage in the hardest content in the game.

​@@vashthestampede3459I personally am looking to exchange for Moment of victory in about two months so as to be able to give him speed boots and get 135 speed on top of the 4k+ defense and 85+% crit rate and 150+% crit damage. Higher speed equates to more skill points and better shield uptime as well. This lightcone also increases his aggro on top of being preservation, so that's gonna be nice.

@@twistedfate62 the last I played was during kafka's first run and I recently got back so I was rlly out of the loop. then I remember I was building my quad quantum team and needed copies of lynx so I tried pulling for her and accidentally got aventurine. Then I was like "fk it" and pulled 20 times on lc and got his lc, so I was forced to look up tutorials on how to build him

*Congrats! Now you have one of the best characters ever. Is a must in every team simply because of his everlasting powerful Shield. Dude is ridiculously OP.*

Follow up attack

Building him pure defense isn’t always going to be a difference in building him damage. For instance I have 4.2K defense, 80 crit rate and 188 crit damage. My follow up attacks hit for 40 to 60 K at E0S1 with pela. I swapped him to 5500 defense 68 crit rate and 98 crit damage and he did less dps and the shields were only like 200 ish more. It all depends on how good your relic sub stats are. If you can reach 70 crit rate, 130+ crit damage, and 4K defense then chase grits. If you can’t hit hose numbers then stack defense.

@@eduaxlz1909 that is fine as there is no wrong way honestly unless he is under 3800 defense. I was just pointing out that once stacking over 5K defense isn’t really worth it imo.

Have you levelled his skill to at least 8/10?

@@koko-hh2bq yep, I have it at lvl 10, talent at level 8 and ult at level 8, all bonus abilities unlocked and all minor traces unlocked apart from the imaginary damage ones. (He’s also lvl 80)

Same, I'm having an easier time with Gepard than Aventurine, since Gepard's shield is easier to activate and Aventurine is extremely skill point hungry

@@darius9513 Well you shouldnt be expecting insanse dmg numbers. at most, its around 50k and nothing crazy like 100k+ edited
