Just starting out with GP. These videos are really helpful for a noob! Thanks for not leaving out any of the small but crucial steps required to actually put these ideas into practice. Superb teaching style!!
Super helpful! I'm such a newb that I don't even have my laptop yet but I am planning to get it soon and get going with GP and multiple vsts for my gigs, and to that end, in the meantime I'm watching as many instructional videos as I can find, and it looks like you are covering everything I need, simply and clearly, to hit the ground running. So thanks, look forward to watching the rest.
You are very welcome and you're on the right track. Deeper you dive into the Gig Performer world, more you'll feel its true magic and the passion built into it.
Sorry I missed this. I am looking into kick performer and have been following for a while. I am hoping more episodes will be done in more of the p.m. part of the day, hopefully. Look forward to seeing more.😀🙏
Thanks so much for these videos. while I'd previously learned most of this ... it was still awesome to revisit and clarify...is wonderful to have you guys make sure these fundamental things are covered so clearly.. Sometimes tech videos can pitch content to super experienced advanced areas and new people are left floundering.. So well done! I've used this split feature with the song 'Never tear us apart' by INXS.. My band mates were impressed when suddenly the 'sax' solo starts ripping through with a reserved octave for it in the top right of the keyboard! Such great software..and I'm still on GP 3! Thanks for your great work it is appreciated!
@@nemanjapudar201 Thanks.. Will check out what they are...I was a fairly early adopter of GP3... So my upgrade price is reasonably high.. But everyone does seem very happy with the new version. Will check out which bits I'd use. Thanks!
Just purchased to run on a surface pro 6 as a sound module and effects processor for my MPC. Idea is to have a Global Rack for my Master effects chain where all my instrument racks will feed, as well as audio coming out of the alternate MPC outs to resample through
Woah! This sounds awesome. Let us know when you've got it up and running. I'd love to see this set up. Also, make sure you join our community on the website, there are lots of people there that will be able to help you if you hit any bumps along the road.
Unfortunately not -- there are so many --- and we can't possibly try them all to determine which ones are "great" --- you should just do a search for something like "best free piano VST", etc
Brett Pontecorvo, I am new to Gig Performer 4. I have a Korg Nautilus without aftertouch. Could you provide a detailed instruction how to add aftertouch to non-aftertouch keyboard? TIA
Is there any way to use the variations feature to trigger a different set of keyboard splits? It seems that this would be more resource friendly than duplicating a rackspace and then making a new set of MIDI in blocks.
I'm an amateur keyboard player. Is there a way I can set transpose function for all synths/keys in GP and map it to a controller knob? Thanks in advance!
Easily - it can be done by attaching a widget to the global transpose parameter in System Actions plugin and then you can control that widget from your controller knob. Please see the documentation for more info.
Is there a way to use multiple kontakt instruments within the same kontakt instance ? isn't having an instance of kontakt for every instrument used in a real performance (sometimes around 50 instruments) will overload the cpu ?!
While you can certainly insert multiple instruments into a single Kontakt instance, it's not clear it will make much if any difference because Kontakt itself doesn't really add any overheard. What song are you playing that needs 50 different instruments at the same time?
You guys need to learn to use Omnisphere for layers! 😂. While teaching people to use this, you need to make much cooler sounds than piano strings. 🤣🤷♂️
Perhaps you’re not understanding the point of this video. It’s not intended to be a lesson in sound design. The purpose is to show how to use GP’s tools to organize areas of your keyboards so that they can be used as layers and/or splits as you perform. Those separate or overlapping areas (depending on your needs) might be routed to a dozen different plugins, or to a single multitimbral plugin or to all of those things at the same time.
