Build Order: Ethiopian Men-at-Arms Into Archers [Age of Empires 2]

Which strat with Britons? Drush fc, maa archers, scouts, straight archers. Everything is fairly viable with their sheep bonus. I don't have plans for this right now, but in the future when I feel like playing some Britons, I can keep one in mind.

Probably not as I like regular RM better. There's always a chance, but there's so many more videos I can make on RM.

I like to get it on the way up to castle age with this, but it's probably worth it to get in feudal after the first 4 farms or so at lower levels as you're only getting up like ~50 seconds faster, but really hurting your economy in early castle age.

By the way, that advice you gave about spending all your wood before any army engagement is absolute GOLD. It seriously deserves its own video!!!

Each deer you push can reduce the farms needed by 1. If you push 2 deer, then you won't need farms. Of course, this isn't always possible, but that's probably better than oversaturating your berries (5 on berries requires you to place the camp 1 tile away to make them efficient, which reduces overall efficiency).

@@vladvostok4785 If you spend all of your wood on farms, then you'll have more food and be able to create more units or go to imperial age faster (or keep villager production on multiple tcs easier)

Man, if I could rhyme like that freestyle, I'd be in the wrong profession.

I find that if you get up to 15 farms, getting wheelbarrow before upping gives you much more food to work with on castle age, which allows you to afford all the upgrades as well as add 3 tc right away. Maybe if you're going earlier ballistics before tcs you might consider skipping wheelbarrow in feudal age. Of course for faster uptimes (31ish) you would definitely not want wheelbarrow.

This can be beaten if your opponent gets to 3 scouts + some villagers and fights your maa before you have reinforcements. If your opponent is up on 18 pop for scouts, then adding a spearman before clicking the man at arms upgrade can work. Otherwise it's just camping hills and trying to take a good fight away from where the enemy villagers are. Resource walling your villagers at home is always good when the opponent is up that early (unless they're straight tower rushing).

Pushing deer is better than not pushing them, though it can hurt your scouting so you might be surprised by a drush or not find your opponent in time. Milling deer is not good with this since it's a very tight rush build. If you mill deer then you'll be delaying the archery range in which case you might've just gone up 2 vils later.

@@SurvivalistAoE oh, sorry 11, BA is range hotkey , BL is stable , Hong Kong player usually use hotkey to call those buildings :p so I don’t know when I should play one range one stable , or just one range and go castle age, sometimes I die to two range archers , or i go two ranges , but opponent go one range , then i up so late ,I don’t know what I should do , old Arabia one range is the meta right? but now Arabia is more open and feudal i play so bad , sometimes gold position is so wide , even i build a tower , i just feel I am so far behind

@@SurvivalistAoE and I don’t know , why people go drush into feudal, is there any purpose to do that? i always go 21p maa into archer , or scout into range , drush cant do big damage, why mbl , liereyy like drush ? just for better eco?

@@SC2noHope You can play a lot more aggressive on the new arabia. You can open scouts and then add a range later for scouts + archers. This is a very strong composition. Drush or Men at arms into archers is also a good play. If you join the discord, this is a pretty good question to ask there as there's not a simple answer.

@@SC2noHope Drush gives you full scouting of what the opponent is doing and can prevent him from walling.

This build only works for Ethiopians since you get +100 gold and +100 food on the next age. For Slavs you'd have to adapt the build quite a bit.
