It's a great idea to mod an existing watch by just changing the dial and hands. This way you dont need to trim the crown stem to fit the case and you dont have to worry about having the wrong movement holder/ring. Cheers for the video man. There is a company i found that makes one off enamel dials to your design and specification. I will combine these ideas to make something truly unique
Thanks! Indeed, it was my easiest build. The down side is that you can't choose the dial before you get the watch and measure the size. Can you write the name of the company that makes the custom enamel dials?
It is a great base for a watch I agree, the problem is that I wouldn't know what hands to choose, it is not a standard pinion. At the moment I stick with ST2130/2824 standard, I know that I can always find dial and hands for this standard.

Indeed, very few dials in this range. In the description of the video I wrote the name of the ebay store "salva-flori" in Italy. Check if they have the dial.
This Seagull is not sold any more. Google "SEAGULL D519.628", you may find it pre-owned. I've modded the watch to black hands to make it legible, the original was not legible.
Thanks. Indeed it was much easier than my first project from separate parts. On the other hand, buying a watch without knowing the dial size give you less options. My next project is a meteorite dial watch, also from separate parts. Stay tuned.
How can you place the watch with dial face down with the new hands installed on cushion to remove the crown stem? Will that not ruin the new hands? Where do you get the cushion use to rest the movement? Really jealous you can do this. I like the movement and case in this Lobinni, but I have watches with similar dial as this and want to do what you did.
The cushion is soft, but you are right, I usually avoid that, and take out the stem from the side. The cushion is from AliExpress. The beautiful Calatrava case of this watch is why I got it for this mod. It is thin, 10mm, I couldn't find this case anywhere for building a watch from parts, so I bought the whole watch.
Do you add luminaries? ( glow in the dark ) like the straw trick with the second hand 👍question do you lubricant the gaskets when you open up the case? Or on a every two year basis?
The smallest diameter a case can get is the opening diameter under the crystal, plus a safe margin. I didn't want to be on the edge there, so the range I've measured is the actual original dial diameter as a minimum, 33.2mm, and the maximum opening of the case, 33.5mm.
