This is a double sided adhesive tape. I don't recommend using it if you don't have a good way to secure the movement inside the case. I ended up replacing the dial in this watch because the movement wasn't secured.
I admit that rose gold is not usually my first (or second) choice for a watch case but the color combination here and the total look of this watch is spectacular! Great looking watch and with a Seiko movement it will last for posterity.
I'm struggling to unscrew the back casing - I'm guessing that it has never been unscrewed since we bought the watch 30 years ago. Have you got any suggestions for how to loosen it? Many thanks.
If you have a dedicated tool, just be persistent. It was tight. I did the struggle off camera. Use protective layer so you will not scratch the back. If you don't have a dedicated tool, get a 2 dollars one from AliExpress, this is what I use.
It's not a kit, I collected the pieces from ebay and AliExpress. In the description you will find what to search to find the parts. The biggest challenge is to find the meteorite dial. At the time there was an ebay merchant that is not active now. This is a rare and expensive part.
@@AlonNahary I am thinking of going on a stone hunt I haven't found any meteorites yet :") in a reasonable price man I'll make a custom one in the memory of my father's
Ive got 2 broken seiko kenetics there hopeless I only have 1 working watch my Rolex Deepsea but it's 2 bulky to wear all the time I might sell it and get a sub mariner I don't know yet il see in the future
Nice! Somehow I imagine that if you remove the largest spheres, this structure would be weight efficient for load bearing in construction. Anyway, it looks cool. How did you create the fractal?
I see you omitted showing the other side refitting of the watch band and the retightening of the watch back. Perhaps adding a text line to that effect on your video would have resulted in a 10/10 score from me. Anyhow 9.5 outa 10 aint a bad mark.
Great! I am thinking of doing a build with the same double domed-crystal case but I am not sure because the lugs go straight instead of curving around the wrist. How does this case fit and looks on your wrist?
Thanks! Indeed this is very unusual case, but no practical problems with short sleeves. The crystal is the real show. I would say this is a strap monster, and with every strap it looks and feels different on the wrist. Jubilee is one you should consider.
Thanks for this video. It took me considerably longer to accomplish it, but the watch is working. I have had this same exact model sitting in a drawer in the original box for ten years. It was presented to me for 25 years at my job. I retired a couple of months ago after 35 years, and decided to wear the watch. It wouldn't hold a charge, but it works great now. Thanks.
This is not a China clone from Seagull or Shanghai. This is a real Swiss eta 2824. I have several of the Chinese clones, and this behaves and feels different.
Thank you. My Dad has a 15 -20 year old one that stopped within a year or maybe 2 of getting it. I'm going to try and fix it for him. It's been in a drawer for years. This looks straight forward.
Very handsome watch. I have a mediorite dial and watch parts I bought 3 years ago. Im so scared to crack the dial drilling holes in it, but it looks like it worked out very well for you. 🚀
It has some orange in it, but it closer to yellow. For your previous question, search AliExpress with this exact words: "nh35 black green yellow dial".
The dial size is 28.5mm. I would advise against removing the cyclops when the movement is inside. The reason is that the NH35 has a plastic ring, and you don't want to risk melting it.
