Part 2: Follow Espen The Boatbuilder build a C.G. Petterson inspired modern boat from the beginning to the boat is on the water.
This boat is a home design, but the inspiration is from Scandinavian designs around 1910-1930. During this process of glueing and skrewing the strips on, Espen choose to add a wooden piece to clamp down the top strips which is necessary because of the curved shape.
The narrow hull and pointy bow in addition to low weight will help the boat to a decent speed with a small engine.

Espen replied to my comment about the Turbinia on the 1st video, and I said I would look out for updates, and did not realise you had uploaded episode 2. I have just watched it. Fantastic to see all the 'strips' being planed to make one smooth wooden curved surface. Great skills. I had to laugh when you both had to think of the English word for something so specific, in contrast to my B1 level Norwegian, where I have to think what the Norwegian word for boat is! Although the good news I do now it is båt or sjøbåt 😂😂

It came out yesterday at 1700 Oslo time. Espen is the one with the english boat lingo, I'm just trolling and trying to keep my head above the water. Båt is korrekt! In Norway we have something called Båt is... which is Boat icecream 😄

2:52 Planks :) I just subscribed to your channel. Actually I follow the Scandinavian boats but much bigger ones. Like their shapes. So, I believe it will be more excited to watch your boat building. Btw, have you ever gave a whisky party? Traditionally, before the last plank, you're giving a whisky party with the people and celebrate putting the last plank. This last plank is called like whisky plank :)) I look forward to watch the ep. 3rd.

There should be a channel called "The Trouble With Peel-Ply" I recently (friday) put some on the bottom of my 16 ft rowboat I'm building, and it's nearly impossible to put on without all sorts of wrinkles, nearly impossible to get the wrinkles out (working alone too!), and the idiots sent it to me all folded this way and that into a little 7 inch x 7 inch bundle so that the creases are all over the cloth. No matter how hard I try it refuses to lay flat and all those creases keep rising back up or bending down. When I peeled it later on, it was a checkerboard of 7 inch rectangles with up-ridges to be ground flat, and down ridges to be filled.

I have the same problem😅. The thing is, peel-ply is not flexible like the biaxial fibreglass. It does not shrink or stretch in the same way. On the outside of the boat it was not a big problem, but inside i got much more wrinkles. I will hide it under the floor and seats😁

no, I think someone sabotaged the houses by knocking of the roof with a long stick last spring. I'm thinking of relocating them further into the forest and putting a screw through the roof
