Daniel designs a 3D printer enclosure with air filter, then builds it (ring light not included). Total price is about 300-800$depending on location. The combied HEPA and active carbon filter helps deal with the plastic particles and smell. Built for Prusa Mini, Prusa Mk3 or Ender 3. Do it yorself project, if you are brave enough.

Ok this is exactly how I wanted it. I like the full plexy version more as I want to be able to see the print from any angle without the legs in the corners disturbing the view xD thanks for this!

This is awesome, I was planning on designing something similar for an Ender 3. Have the acrylic already and need to design corner brackets. Looks great dude well done! By the way what kind of light is that?

Thanks! The light is an Elgato Ringlight, I use it for the videos.

Awesome video! I'm really struggling trying to guess the way you managed to screw the bolts on the plexiglass... how did you do that without adding nuts nor tapping the acrylic? Thank you so much for the video!
@danieldesignshu
@danieldesignshu Год назад
I used nuts, they are inserted into the corner pieces. There are haxagon holes to keep the nuts in place.

You might want to check out xiaomi mi air purifier filters, round so you got a large surface area and they are quite cheap and come with carbon inserts.

Hi, what tools did you use to cut out the rounded rectangle for the cables exit?
@danieldesignshu

Drill the four corners of the rectangle, then cut the straight lines with an electric jigsaw.

igényes vidi, igényes kivitelezés 😉 A 3D modell animációját milyen szoftverben keszitetted? Fusion360? Kb mennyire időigényes egy ilyen animáció?
@danieldesignshu
@danieldesignshu 2 года назад
Köszönöm! Igen Fusion360. Egyszerű alkatrész mozgások (forgás vagy egyenes mozgás) nagyon hamar megvannak. De bármi bonyolultabb elég időigényes tud lenni. Szerintem nem igazán bonyolult dolgokra találtak ki. Órákat dolgoztam ennyivel is.

Really great video. I was wondering about draft as well. While I don't believe enclosure should or are supposed to be airtight, I thought one of the main reasons for enclosures besides heat retention was to avoid drafts to prevent warping and poor bed adhesion for materials like ABS and maybe even PETG [even PRUSA said to have enclosure doors open for PLA printing]. Have you found any problems caused by the airflow in your build? It looks amazing btw, way better than the traditional LACK stack.
@michaelkleiman1700
@michaelkleiman1700 Год назад
In response to your own comments about the LACK acting as a soundboard, I recommend checking out CNC Kitchen's video... especially since your design affords extra vertical space. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y08v6PY_7ak.html
@danieldesignshu
@danieldesignshu Год назад
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah ABS is tricky. I kept the door fully closed, with fan running at absolute minimum and still had adhesion issues. Sadly filter didn't 100% get rid of the smell. So I halted ABS test until some day maybe I come up with an improved filter setup.

1:20 If the door gap is that wide, what purpose is the enclosure even serving?
@danieldesignshu
@danieldesignshu 2 года назад
When opened like that, there's still is a small draft felt by hand, so air is sucked in. I do this to keep the terperatature below 40°C (Prusa Mini max ambient temp).The point is to only let air out throrugh the filter while keeping the printer within temperature limits.

@je3d37
@je3d37 2 года назад
Is 800 with the printer and light. Way too much. Also it's not air tight so kinda pointless
@danieldesignshu
@danieldesignshu 2 года назад
No 3D printer included but the price depends on where you live. It was 300$ for me on 2021. It's not fully pointless to make it tho, because the blower creates a low pressure inside, so air goes in through openings and only comes out throuth the HEPA filter. Gets rid of smell and plastic particles. It can't be airtight or the 3D printer would overheat. I'll do a video to explain. But yeah the price is steep.
@elitjones1236
@elitjones1236 2 года назад
no 3d printer enclosure should be air tight regardless, some airflow is required. cant have a fan sending air out and no air in that would create a large amount pressure. The ambient temp would defiantly be higher in that than if it was purely open air so quite a nice design
