I've seen your motor has 2 speeds. Are you using the 3000 rpm too ?

21:16 how much far behind that plate are the rollers? I guess that plate that the sand paper sits against to has to be a bit more foreward than the rollers but how much?

I have seen used this type of sized belts.second place used first by owner as budget was shortages.... some how it grinds nearly everything the 6"into 4"sized... good

Solid effort, but can't help but think it is so much machining and so much steel for a sander. But my be you need a precise tool.
