Just to be pedantic as hell: A "Terrace" is an elevated patch of ground, or an elevated living space, outside. If you had a cobblestone patio, it would be a terrace. If you built a walk-out, rooftop patio, it would be a terrace. A park could be a terrace, if it was raised above the non-park area, et cetera. A "Trellis" (/ "trellice") is some vertical latticework; either a standalone lattice wall, or like a wood lattice on the side of the house. Usually you would grow ivy up a trellis. A "Pergola" is a roof / arch for a trellis, or just a horizontal roof version of a trellis, suspended somehow, again, usually to wrap ivy around. So you could say that the garden is terraced, in that each garden is a flat space, and is separated from its surroundings by being elevated. The ivy grows on a trellis / pergola, depending on whether it's vertical / horizontal beams (but I really don't think anybody outside of this comment, or a landscape designer is going to correct you if you say your trellis has a roof / beams). Given that a terrace might often have a trellis, it's easy to confuse them.

Sick build! I haven't played the game since launch, but watching this makes me want to give it a go again.

Love the style of your video with the new approach and branding. Great combination of production quality, preparation, and spontaneity. I appreciate the "well, shit" vibe mixed keeping parts light without it being overly stylized and cloying. As for this build itself, it's a bit much for my taste - but that means little! Cool to see you using the terrain. Really love the garden area with the neat walls and lanterns. At some point I'd love to see your take on a more sparse build that still is unique, finely crafted, etc. Might be a great challenge? Anyway, great video!

I appreciate that. I've put a lot of effort lately into adding a new and laidback style to the mood of the video. A less rigid and more easy going style. So it's nice to hear that! Not a bad idea with that build suggestion. I usually start with a simple idea and then overcomplicate things along the way. lol I will try something more spread out next time around. Thanks!

@@9byte Yeah, I saw your rebrand video, so I thought I'd mention it. I think of it as something to compliment your content. Another channel, @smittysurvival, did a couple more simple builds - including ones that had wood limits.

Great video mate, the journey through the build all flowed together very nicely with some cool edits too! I love those wood walls for the farm, and hey.. someone's got to grow that tinsel right?
@9byte
@9byte Год назад
Thank you! I really worked on the flow with this one by taking out clear sections and putting everything together. Or trying to anyway. lol

I'm an architect and this place is fascinating. I'm currently building a Black Forest castle, surrounding the Trader. Currently a rectangle, but I'd like to convert it to a hexagon. (BTW, I'm in Iron Age and have not found, let alone killed, Bonemass.) In my group game, we are always in need of honey. With 3 to 6 players, we go through a lot of meads.

I love architecture so that's cool to have an architects approval LOL Black forest is the best isn't it? Yeah I dont know if I'd recommend this many bees right next to your house though its so loud! lol

@@9byte In the group game, the hives are in a protected field across a river from the main structure. There have to be at least 30 of them.

Great work man! We’re about to build a “village” and wanted to do a farm with a kitchen eating area. So this is great inspiration.

Amazing build, attention to little details are really good. Love Valheim, such a good game, thank you for sharing. p.s. Outside garden gazebo or wooden areas are sometimes called a pergola.

Wood beam on the stone floor amaze me. How did you do that? put a wall and free snap them into ground? I think still wouldn't be that flat.
@9byte
@9byte Год назад
Good catch! You can technically do this without a mod but not with that precision. The Infinity Hammer mod has a nudge feature where I can control the exact amount I want to shift a piece and in what direction I want to do it in.

hi, tfg i mean ninebyte, have you ever thought about making a 100 days survival video in valheim? it would be kinda cool!
@9byte
@9byte Год назад
lol hi! Yeah I've thought about it but just haven't gotten around to it. Its a tried and true method for some views but tbh I prefer to come up with my own style of video. Maybe I'll give it a try in the future though we'll see.
