You could buy the repair instructions from bmw 30 years ago... you mean it was not possible to scratch you smelly eggs while you think that you are "learning/gaining knowledge" by just watching a video on a shiddy internet-plattform. You still know nothing about this engine or how to rebuild it.

@@wiLdchiLd2k One of the biggest lies ever told was that Knowledge amounts to the level of someone's intellect. Knowledge/Learning especially in it's practical application are simple, just like following instructions. Innovation is real gauge of intellect, but that doesn't mean Knowledge is any less important. It doesn't matter how you gain the knowledge. How is this different to reading an instruction manual, if anything is it not better? How do you think this guy learnt how to rebuild an engine like this...?

@@Jerrypkmonkey I am a bmw dealer tech. We do everything except full engine rebuild. I am in the east coast of Canada and the pay is not great compared to other trades. It's the least payed trade out there..I went into this field because I love Cars but this trade is killing the passion, after almost doing it for 10 years. If you love cars, don't make this as your profession. Just my 2 cents.
@KingJerbear
@KingJerbear 5 месяцев назад
@@Jerrypkmonkey Modern tech is a rough job, you need to spend a ton of money on tools, and for a dealer most stuff is billed at a set time. So you're only making money if you're cranking through lots of jobs faster than the "recommended" time. The typical old school "diagnosis" has been replaced by learning how to read and operate scan tools and using a computer. In my opinion the trade is being killed by the manufacturers making more and more expensive cars, the cost for parts and getting your car serviced is going through the roof... but the technician pay is staying the same. In this (and all of Sreten's) video you can see what many technicians dream of, doing jobs the "right" way, with quality parts and taking time to ensure perfection. But in a flat rate world, working like this means barely staying afloat, and that's if the customer is even convinced they actually want to spend the money to have it done right. I deeply respect all the guys keeping our vehicles safe and on the road in this day and age

This was by far the best rebuild video I ever watched on you tube. Step by step illustration installation process. Job well done mate. No BS, No excuses. I don't think BMW company will give you this much information.

Not a super car guy, don't even have a drivers license. But watched this entire video mesmerized by the complexity and engineering of the engine itself, it's truly amazing what us humans have created from sticks and stones to complex engines.

WoW, i didn't know i was one of the three ladies watching, but when you love car's, you just have to watch Sreten in action, because he does repairs right, and his OCD about using genuine parts and making everything look new is something i can relate to. I have been looking forward to this build, and love long video's. Thank you for choosing this as your job, i appreciate all the time you put into doing this, as well as the cost involved to save these car's. G-d bless you, your wife, and the little furry one.

The satisfaction was palpable, when you turned the rotating assembly, at near zero resistance. Good job. That is precision work.

That’s funny man I smoke a lot of weed but I’m still interested in mechanics this guy makes it looks easy and entertaining to do something intelligent like rebuilding an engine.

Damn, nothing like engineering videos and an engine build, at that! In a messed up world of "I don't wanna" this kind of sensible logic, precision and common sens you need to build a machine like this is like an antidote for chaos! Incredible! The filming and editing was probably the same amount of work as building this engine.

Just got this video recommended. I actually sat thru the whole video and I genuine have no interest in car engines. But your excellent editing and commentary made it enjoyable plus no horrible music, you let your tools be the music. Great!

I absolutely seriously doubt anyone else does the engine rebuild this minutely, carefully or with this much detail. Kudos! This video will go down in history as how to build S65. This video should be used in auto industry and automotive colleges as the benchmark! Nothing less nothing more!

"My name is Sreten. I am not a professional mechanic, just a normal IT guy whose hobby and passion for cars have gotten out of hand." Wow! Sreten, I love your modesty and admire your work! You are proving that being a professional is not always enough to guarantee the expected results and that in your case, "amateur" makes full justice to the Latin origins of the word. Kudos!!
