Putting up a fence for your dog speaks volumes about your character. Years ago I put up a fence in my backyard so my golden retriever could run her little heart out.

I have never seen you before today (Nov 9th 2022) and I couldn't help but subscribe because I love your mellow chilled-out yet driven personality. Great Job! My own family is full of strong, capable and unafraid women, some of whom lived on dairy and beef farms in the Piedmont of NC. Running/repairing fencing is a constant job on a farm, and I learned some of these skills from them. My cousins called me 'city boy' (not a farm boy). Some of my fondest memories are overnighters with cousins, going to bed with the chickens, and getting up at 4 am for that walk to the barn to milk cows. I was jealous of their lifestyle, but was reminded that, "We do this every day, twice a day". I now live in upstate SC, and want to fence in my little one acre plot. I have a goofy dog about the same size as yours, and he too is on a cable (run) between two trees. Even do it yourself fencing can be expensive, so I plan to buy the t-posts and braces first, gates, and then purchase the welded wire fencing... one step at a time. Wish me luck!

Nice job on the fence. Nice to have friends that you can have help you on your projects good fences, make good neighbors. always make sure to have the utility company come out and mark where all of the utilities are ran on your property. It can be pretty expensive to pay, for repair work, if you damage utilities, nice to see you progressing in the direction of being a homeowner🙏🏽
I bet Ollie would love a leaf pile to play in. A small electric snowblower could make a nice large pile for him with less work then a rake. Great job on the fence!

I fenced in 6 acres of pasture lands for the dogs and the horses with 5 strands of high tensil electric wire. Works like a charm. Worlds largest dog pen!! I dig the holes for the fence post with an auger on the back of the tractor. Or I use the gas powered auger for areas where the tractor wont fit .
If you have slack parts of the wire fence you can use lineman plyers to put a small twist in the wire to pull up the slack. I've done this many times ,works great..

Great video Steph, watching from Australia and I am sure Tractor supply would sell a thing called a wire strainer, so for the not so good bits of your fence, I am sure it would tighten the fence.
