Building A Giant Planted Fish Tank! Step by step Aquarium setup 

You boys have inspired this old geezer to get a fish tank for my six year old son. He loves going fishing with me and has been asking for a pet. Another thing we can do together. Thanks Carl and Alex.

"I spend more time watching the tank than the tele". This is what most of the aquatic enthusiasts think. And it's true. A tank is way more relaxing than watching television.

Tank looks awesome. The black backdrop and gravel works really well and there’s plenty of hiding places in the decor which the fish will love. Also Charley looks gorgeous and so friendly. Love it. Well done guys.

Lovely video guys! I wanted to bring a small fish tank for myself as well, already started to research which size I need and what do I need to keep it up like lights, pump and other accessories. Then I realized how much work and effort it takes to maintain it all and decided not to go with it further. So great job for keeping it up and taking care of the it, it's not an easy job.

You lads got me back into this big time, after watching this vid I decided I also wanted my very own Carl and Alex tank, I wanted one for a while but you guys pushed me over the edge, so I bought a massive bullet tank, at first it was a bit rough, I lost a few fish and really battled to get the plants to grow which you guys seem to have figured out, but now, a few months later I've got a very healthy, happy tank, my guppies, sword tails and even the shrimp are breeding like flies, so much so that I've had to start selling them back to the petshop as I don't want to overpopulate my tank, and my bottom feeders ( Rainbow sharks, Cory catfish and placos)are getting massive. I love just getting lost in my tank, I really struggle to sleep sometimes but just watching my fish calms me down and actually helps with this. Thanks guys, though I must say, I can't see myself getting into the mushroom thing though 🤣

I went from watching you guys when I’m at home and sometimes when I’m out on the water, but it’s always for fun. Now I’m watching you for education to learn how to setup my 50 gallon aquarium. Quite the plot twist! Also great video! I’d love to see you do more aquarium content!

Watching the fish is just so calm and relaxing. My grandad has a huge pond in his garden just like yours! He’s also got a koi (maybe not as big as Charlie) that comes to the surface and will just eat the food out your hand, it’s amazing!

Hi guys, im glad that you are in the hobby and doing it all properly, and the tank looks great but... corydoras could have problem with that sharp gravel, their barbs get cut of and they in the long run mostly get sick by it so i would recommend changing that fish

nice one lads, my Fishing channel used to be a Fishing Keeping channel before I switched it over 5 years ago. I have been keeping fish as long as I have fished, over 22 years, also lucky enough to have worked for 12 years each in both industries (Angling and Keeping) its not easy... you done well with learning fish keeping... its good to see a lot of RU-vidrs in the Angling world now keeping Fish. Its very rewarding.

What an amazing looking tank, great choice of fish. I would recommend getting some sort of centre piece fish like a gourami and I would watch the corries as they prefer sand cause Sharpe stones and rocks can damage their barbuals

Some root tabs around the swords will help them grow since they're root feeders. And please use a quarantine tank. Your bedroom tanks will do. Quarantine the fish for 3-4 weeks to make sure the don't bring any parasites or disease to your existing fish. No need to clean the filter monthly either, just wait until the flow in the filter gets affected.

Cool fish tank, during the Corona lockdown in Germany I built up a 30 litre and a 60 litre aquarium to keep red fire prawns and snails. For my pond outside in the garden I bought a Karashi Koi (now I have 9 Koi in the pond --> next year I am going to buy an Asagi Koi) and I prefer going fishing at my local lake, so we share the same hobbies and it´s really interesting to follow both of your RU-vid Channels. Keep up your good work.

Great work guys, I used to keep marine set up it was a lot of work to maintain and expensive too but got great enjoyment just sitting for hours, better than telly lol 🐟🐠🐡🦀🦞🦐🦑🐙

I love this because I have a tropical tank to my fish are Neon tetra guppies and a clown shark and a shrimp and some other cool fish! but now I have a koi pond in my garden it is so fun waking up in a morning and feeding them some pellets can't wait for an update on the tropical tank it is amazing how well it is keep up the good work mate.

Fish keeping is a great hobby to have, can be a little frustrating when we try and keep the more difficult species but just as much fun and just as rewarding as fishing. Well done guys, you've set up a beautiful environment for the fish there and 'Charlie' is the perfect koi to have, looking forward to seeing Alex's koi in the future, get one of the opposite sex and then who knows - baby koi! Brilliant video.

Really well done and so professional. We now have a kinda large pond with Japanese Koi but no fishing allowed guys :-) The Yellow Koi are the friendliest. What a great show :-)

Brightened up my day when I saw you had a new video release, one thing though Corys like to sift through the substrate and if it’s shop it can damage them. I use silica sand for my Corys for this reason. Great vlog guys 👌

If you ever get algae building up in the tank, get a few snails! They breed like crazy and keep the tank looking fresh!
