It’s standard practice to sell your start ups once you can get enough money to make it worthwhile so you stay with the giant ass revolving debt that’s at the mercy of the market. Sticking to over built super quality shit is great to get customers but you can’t expand it or survive on the margins in those types of businesses in down turns. Don’t judge other people’s lessons when you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.

I worked at a trailer dealer for a summer. The trailers these days are not welded properly and sometimes are even missing welds.

What is your plan for getting it on the road?

Will also note that in the years I've been welding I've never seen a torque tube ran the length of a trailer before but I can't say I'd disagree with the design either. Personally I'd have tied the mainframe together with some 6 or 8 inch channel and tied those with the crossmembers for the bed of the trailer. But I do really like the way you did it

The only thing I would add to this comment is put I beams front and back ,tack weld them check for square then put the middle I beam in tack and check for square Then weld the I beams in ..When main frame is square and welded then ,tack on your spring hangers check for square . He is correct the main frame has to be first and it has to be square , or you could end up with an out of square mess .

Badass trailer only thing I think would be a problem is the “ramp” or whatever its called on the back dragging the ground if you try and go up a hill to steep

@@WaldosWorld This is my fist time watching you, and I have to say I'm very impressed! I don't know where you live, or how much rain you get, or the firmness of your soil, but I saw the dovetail touch the grass once or twice and couldn't help but think of future weather and soil conditions. Especially if you carry something very heavy, that fixed tail might bite you a couple times. Overall, it's still very solid and will last until the end of time!

no you run all wire though a 1.5x1.5 x1/8 tubing as you have to brake at the axles for the brakes as well cross over to each side for all the side marker lights with 3/8 pipe trailer that size must have 2 sets of side marker lights per side as well cross over to each back lights

The law requires (in most States) to have side marker lights, and also DOT reflective striping down both sides of the trailer and across the back.

@@wesleyburford5559 Ive been around lots of flatbed and step deck hauling mostly class a. Also structural repair on almost all and assisted in building trailers. Ive seen a lot including broken frames. I can say in some circumstances you can have a significantly lighterweight trailer namely the C channel/ I beams if you have the pipe down the center its like a torsion bar but it prevents the welds and beams from twisting weld/metal fatigue cracks/ breaking. I know a few guys that haul heavy equipment on goose neck trailers with two dually axels (8 tires) they believe that pipe down the center is a prerequisite. Ive seen one of their trailers that didn't have one, they cut it open and added one full length. I worked for a outfit that had a old hot shot trailer it had very small beams was the lightest big trailer 48-53'? Step deck ive ever seen but it had the center pipe. looked like it was early 1980's home made beat up bad but no bends, no cracks in the frame but there were cracks in the welds holding center pipe in. The trailer waldo built here doesn't necessarily need it for its short length ,14k axle cap If predominantly on road use only.. If he's going off road Or had any more length Or axle cap# center pipe is absolutely needed. I think he's quite prudent to have it, better to have little more strength than not quite enough and have a disaster that could potentially be deadly. Ive seen them loaded without center pipe frame broken from bottom up towards front of trailer driven into hard into the blacktop stuck in the road landing gear/ jack folded up.

I hate the triaxles. They eat tires fast and handling them is cumbersome. A tandem with dual wheels carries more and handles much better. If floatation is needed 4 super singles work better than 6 pizza cutters.

If you set the angle iron like that you take away the structure of the angle iron. Best off just running beams and welding a bunch of strips of flat bar the opposite way to give grip. Or, carry around old mud flaps or conveyor belt pieces in the trailer box. We always did for the rollers because they don't like to climb steel ramps.
