Building a House in Thailand. Looking at different stages of development from start to finish. Ending with the full cost of the house with land.#thailand #building #buildingahouse #buildingmaterials #expatlife
Out in issan NE Thailand the prices per sq meter might run from 10k to infinity. Average builds out here seem to be 13500 to 15000, Thai style ish build with some western style thrown in. House build only, so many extras to consider, filling in soil, walls/gate, water well, power etc...
From a Feng Shui perspective the bottom left of the house is a "money" corner (they put toilet there) and bottom right of the house is a " marriage relationship" where the corner is not in full shape. Meanings: the resident would have trouble with money issues and general quarrel in marriage relationship. It's just my 2 cents.
I just got one Rae last week this gives me a good idea how to divide it. Were the walls and dirt already there on your land? how much did you pay and where is it?
Just curious, given the restrictions on foreigners not being allowed to have full ownership of property in Thailand, did you form a company or is the home in your wife’s name?
They build them too close together and I never understand why there's no garden....seems to me if you want a garden you have to buy land and then build a house...all in your wife/partners name 😅
thais dont fancy beeing outside as much as westerners^^ But im with you, i see so many propertys where the house and carpark takes like 90 % of the space. i dont like that at all.
We have our country house with lots of land, but in urban area we don’t like to maintain gardens, too much snakes and centipede and monitor lizards remember Thailand is tropical.
It’s difficult most guys over here buy and build with their Thai wife it’s just easier process as long as you have a stable relationship only you can answer that question 🇹🇭👍
The building quality is shocking no damp proofing no insulation and generally the drainage is terrible I've looked at loads of property here in hua Hin and only see a very small amount that are half decent.if I plan to get a house I'l build it from scratch and over see the works without the builders "losing face" over quality but I'd get a decent team from the start. My main concern is no insulation as most propertys get very hot and you end up with a battle with aircon when it's a simple fix at the construction stage. I was carpenter builder in the uk.
Some are crap some are very good with a bit of educational tutoring from you they can do a good job but you dare not leave them to thier own devices a lot of trouble aswell is when you decide to build the family try to step in to get thier family to build that's a big mistake cause they normally are the crap ones and have thier own agenda on building
