"Tony, if you need a hand I have a full series on how to grow Peppers for beginners" lmao Shawn that was savage. Them hydro Peppers are bloody massive! Such a big difference. Splashed out on a tent and grow light and my peppers are loving it. Got a few more seedlings to germinate fingers crossed and I'm set for the season! Going to certainly have a play with hydro now I got the tent. Seriously impressed with yours.

LMAO Shaun. Marathon, not a sprint, remember it's about the weight so makes no difference how long they take to germinate as long as they do. Great episode and flood table, I'm not building one of those, for now, have something else in mind :)

if you do this again, you could use pond liner. :) great video. I love watching even though I cannot do anything like this. I am going to start growing lettuce in hydroponics in my house (in Solo cups) to get my feet wet. I bought chili plants this year as it is a little too later to start seed and I am impatient. I bought way more than I normally would have just because of you! I have pots of chilies all over my patio :)

I really like this idea, I can get lots of pallets for free so definitely gonna have to try this! I think I'll use EPDM instead of that trancelucent stuff because it'll probably last alot longer.

Good video Shaun, working on my DWC tank this weekend myself. Finally got the last 2 pieces I was waiting on, the net pots and the hot seed selection; Carolina Reaper, Bhut Jolokai, 7 Pot Primo etc :D Trial run with habanero, scotch bonnet and some tomatoes first in case it goes bad, don't wanna waste nice seeds!

Thank you! I did consider DWC....and also kratky, but I settled on Ebb & Flood due to the research I did and also some conversations with some commercial growers. We will see how I get on this year in the greenhouse! Good luck with your grow! Keep me updated on the progress!

@ChilliChump

You will be surprised how big the plant will be even with small seeds! One of the joys of gardening is seeing those little seeds and realising the potential that is inside them. And at the end of the season when you have a big chilli bush with loads of peppers, think back to that little seed. It is all pretty amazing!

@chillichump How do you think hydroponics, traditional and autopot type systems compare for ease of use and final harvest/taste tests ? Seems to contradict the normal way in keeping peppers a little on the dry side !
@ChilliChump
@ChilliChump 4 года назад
The hydroponics actually works to the chillies favour...at least the ebb and flood system I have gone with. The roots get to be dry inbetween the floods. I have not tried the autopot system, so it wouldn't be fair of me to comment.

For a flood table, Liners is the cheapest way to go, then plastic, but they don't last like fiberglass does! Mine been toss and bang around abused for 14 yrs, heat and cold. Still like the day i made em> i guess only way to destroy them is. set em on fire, or run over them!

i'm no expert and your plants look amazing... but the ones that you say aren't doing so good look like they might be under a more red spectrum of light, that seems to be used more for blooms than for vegetative growth... maybe that has something to do with why they are under performing your hydroponic solution ones under a more balanced spectrum of light and nutrient levels that are meant for rapid lush growth...
