My neighbor had 02 eclipse that’s been sitting for atleast 3years( that’s when I moved in) and I’m contemplating on if I should take it and restore. I had tons of knowledge but no wrench time put in.
It really didn't look all that bad. How extensive was the damage? Did it still run and drive? If you still had the other car you could've swapped some of the body / suspension parts from that to it. I'm sure you didn't wanna mess with it further though. Take the insurance and call it good.
Damnnn when I lost my 05 tc they said it would cost 4k to fix but they gave me over 5k instead, but like they could’ve just gave me my car back instead
You washed the engine. Water got into the cylinder. Idk if you checked that. But every time you wash a car specially with a pressure hose you will get water inside. They basically told you to change the whole engine because they wanted you to spend money
@@rengokusfox well there is a fixing to a certain point. You can remove the coils, and spark plug boots. (Do not remove spark plugs) ill say it again. (DO NOT REMOVE THE SPARK PLUGS) Then you will need a strong vacuum to suck up all the water on each cylinder. And use a microfiber towel to get inside the cylinder and clean around the spark plug. Put everything back the car should still run rough for a minute or two but it will go away after that
my stepfather got one in the shop he works at a few weeks ago. it was white and i think it was an 04. it sat under pine trees for years and the owner was unsure it ran. they actually found mold in the interior, it smelt disgusting.
