Building a Rolling Workbench for the Table Saw

In this video I show you how I built a DIY rolling #workbench with #outfeed table and tool storage.
I have an old Craftsman #tablesaw (model 113) that was sitting in the middle of my garage workshop on it's own dedicated cart. I had been wanting a new rolling workbench for some time so I decided to combine the two into one functional workbench, table saw stand and outfeed table. I would love to hear your thoughts and comments on the build in the comment section below!

Nice...I am inspired to add casters to my new workbench project! Even if I don't plan on moving it around a lot, it will be nice to have the option!

Looks great. If i had a larger shop i would make my bench similar to yours. I am building a modified version of the Paul bench with fold up legs to make storage easier on one wall. Glad i found your channel so i can keep up with some of your work.

Howard McLean thanks for taking the time to watch. I debated about a fold up bench too but still needed to do something with the table saw so I settled on this design.

That is an awesome table saw workbench! However, I am starting to see why fellow RU-vidrs are able to build such great projects. It appears you have to have an extremely helpful "little one" to oversee projects. I protest because that is not fair and I am jealous! LOL very nice video.

+High Caliber Craftsman thanks! I actually left a gap on the bottom shelf for just that purpose. Just have to figure out how to connect it to an old saw with zero dust collection design.

I've seen some pretty good dust collection setups on these saws. I haven't tried it yet.

Having limited space like you (also in a 2 car garage) I feel your pain! I wish I had the ceiling height you have so I could take advantage and store my wood like you. I have a similar Craftsman saw (but older) and have thought of making a workbench like this. I will stay tuned and I hope you do a follow up video in 6-8 months.

Awesome! I would love to see your saw. You should do a shop tour sometime. I'll make a reminder to follow up on how this bench performs. Thanks for watching.

@Expose The Heart It's the Kreg pocket hole system. I put together a video on how they are used if you are interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fFmLRsSyLt4.html Thanks for watching!

Looks great. Can you tilt the blade with the saw setup like that? My old Craftsman I need a bunch of space between the saw and the outfeed.
@CCSandSonsWorkshop
@CCSandSonsWorkshop 5 лет назад
davebauerart Yes, the motor hangs completely free of the supports, plenty of room to tilt. Thanks for watching!
@CCSandSonsWorkshop
@CCSandSonsWorkshop 5 лет назад
@davebauerart actually now that I have been using it for a while, you were indeed correct. One of the vertical supports is too close to get a fill tilt to 45 degrees. Major frustration has ensued. I am working on a fix now.

Thanks for the ideas and inspiration. I'm about to build a new workbench for my garage and want to keep it mobile. Does yours stay stable when the wheels are locked? I also see you don't have any diagonal bracing, does the bench flex at all under stress?
@CCSandSonsWorkshop
@CCSandSonsWorkshop 5 лет назад
Thanks for taking the time to watch! Yes the bench remains very stable when the wheels are locked. I got 5" locking casters from Home Depot. There is no flex at all. Although there is not any diagonal bracing, the verticals are 4x4s and tied in to the top and bottom frames in MANY places. The bench is not moving unless I want it to.
