For those mentioning the low volume. I had my gym headphones in while editing this video so I guess it seemed louder. Sorry. At this point fixing it would mean re editing and uploading the video which I don't think is worth the trouble. I'll keep it in mind for future edits. Im still figuring the whole RU-vid thing out as I go. Thanks for watching.

When dealing with lead, do not drop water/sweat into the molten lead. It will splatter. Seen it happen before. Eye pro at a minimum.

Hey John, great channel as always, I recommend a channel out of South Africa called Anvil Repairs-interesting stuff he's doing. Thanks again!

Do you have a merchant shop? If so, that phrase "nothing to it" should be on some of your merch.

Hey man, you should add that slogan to your merch! "Melting metal is cool and we should do it at every opportunity." lol it's great. Keep up the great work brother, long time fan and always looking forward to your next video.

Love it. Just designing my stand right now. Great idea to put lead. I was going to do sand. I think lead is a better idea. Also love the positive look at the newly made rough surface for the silicon layer! Thanks for sharing!

Nice job, looks like a nice anvil. I'd really like an anvil with an upsetting block on it someday.

John, very nice video. Congrats on your new anvil. Big investment but worth it. I have the exact same Rigid anvil. Almost exact same type of stand I build, silicone underneath. You absolutely do not need those bolt brackets to hold it down. However, I still use them. My reasoning is, if anything were to corrode, loosen, etc. it won’t be until I’m an old man. I don’t want that injury. I’d love to know what radii you used to radius your edges. I have mostly 1/8-inch, and a short section with 3/16-1/4 inch. I’m thinking of drilling a 1/2-inch hole to use when drifting tong bosses. I just can’t bring myself to do it. I’d probably mess it up. Solid work! Great videos! Great products! I use your hammers and flatters almost everyday!

You can't beat an anchored anvil. Nothing bugs me more in the shop than an anvil that's walking all over the shop.

I didn't know that was something I needed to do. I always thought RU-vid did that automatically. Ill keep that in mind going forward

When you turn fifty, don't lift heavy loads (9:13) because you will get hemorrhoids.

Eventually years down the road whenever I build my lifetime shop I'll have a crane overhead to do my heavy lifting. I definitely won't be able to handle anvils like this forever
