This plant stand project is made from white oak and features a tile top. Several techniques are demonstrated in this video, including how to use templates to cut out multiple matching parts and how to use a template to guide a piloted flush-trim router bit. The legs are attached to the top assembly with Rockler Beadlock floating tenons.

It amazes me how many machines you actually use and this video would put a lot of beginners off, when I did woodworking at school in early 1970's we were taught to use hand tools and this all about machine accuracy.

This may be a dumb question, but how do I print the template drawing in full size? I really like the stand and would like to try my hand at making it, but a full size template would be very helpful. I have downloaded the plans but am stumped at how to make the template usable. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You take time to show how you glue those dinky masonite squares on the bottom, but you completely skip how the rounded section is joined to the leg component and the table top. I am guessing you used fasteners, so Titebond didn't give a crap about that part and you correspondingly skipped it. To me, this was critical to show because I am wondering how secure fasteners will hold in the end grain of the rounded section. Maybe you used dowels. Would be nice to know.

Screws were driven down from the top of the table into the end grain of the curved sections. The screws hold very securely in the white oak. Full construction drawings for the table can be found in the November/December issue of the Woodworker’s Journal magazine.
