Loving it, there's something so enjoyable about watching the older cars be turned into track day weapons. Possibly because it's not what they were design for in the first place.
Get yourself some racing harnesses. They are easy to install and you will be surprised how much extra confidence they give you when you know you are fully strapped in and not moving about in the corners. Also make sure you disable the air bags.
Cant wait to see that death bucket go fast. I have been bashing NIssan for being a company that went from the SX and GTR to Micras and I want you to prove me wrong.
Enjoyed the video. Easy to watch and listen too. Cleansing seeing the interior stripped out.. inspiring watching seat rail fabrication. Go the little Nissan !
@@ejoautovideos yup - i bought an unique car for track days, swaped it and now its 1 year since it was doing any freaking driving due to technical problems and the platform being expensive. It was a mistake should have gone the cheap nuget way, maybe slower but still fun and you will actually get seat time when in comparasion im just sitting at the shop ;/
Don't worry about the strut tower. It's a pretty straight forward job and u have good acces to the spot. Lovin the content👏 never thought i would look forward to a vid about a micra😅
Thank you so much 🙏 Yes I will make sure to sort it out 👍

Ok, you got me subscribed. But please reroute the seatbelt, I'm not sure that it's any good through the shoulder holes. Also, it's totally ok to fix a 4-point to the rear seatbelt points, as far as I know in the UK regulations that's allowed. I'm using them like this for years and kept us safe when we got rear ended.
Custom light seat rail looks so good! Usually what people do in Japan is shortening the base of the OEM rails seats feet and then welding them back together so it’s lower to the ground, saving a few precious centimeters for the helmet and for the knees under the steering wheel. Keep up the amazing build !
Great job on the seat mount and guaranteed any bad comments on welding is from someone who's never tried it. A new steering wheel and you're just about there 👍🏻
For the visual mods, you can warm up the sealant, then open up the front lamps and remove the amber filter, then warm up the light halves again and close the light up, should be waterproof again and look a bit better. Plus, weight loss 😁
Your pronunciation is good for me. 47.6kg unexpected results to tiny Micra. Please do speed up 0-60mph or 0-100km/h before and after there your "diet". Hello from Kazakhstan, new subscriber :) (it's about nearly Russia and China)
Hiya, just a quick tip for you to do some research on. There was another guy in my country (UK) and he was building a racing Micra, he swapped the gearbox and said because of the ratios it dramatically improved the acceleration. Unfortunately I can't remember who it was, though he was an Asian dude and I can't remember what gearbox/engine combination he had, but it would be worth a search up if you wanted to increase the acceleration for fairly cheap.
Nice video! I own a 206 gti por track use and I was thinking about reducing unnecesary weight too, 47 kg is a great number! The main problem I see here is that all this weight is in the rear of the car, which is already the lighter, so it would make the car even more "oversteerer". It would be nice to move the battery back, delete de a/c compressor, lightweight pulleys and if its possible light weight flywheel in order to balance the car better.
Thank you! Yes you are absolutely right, I have already noticed a lot of lift of oversteer just from my quick test drive. I'll try my best to reduce some weight in the front, for example buy a light weight battery, trim excessive material from brackets etc. Also I will replace the transmission and flywheel to a lighter one. I think that will help too 👍
Hittade din kanal för inte så längesen, kan bara säga att du gör banger videos. älskar speciellt dessa med micran, de visar att man inte behöver en 400hk bmw för att kunna ha kul på en bana, o att du visar exakt allt du gör här. uppskattas!
Cool video ! Just an advice : you need to remove the sound deadning who are stick on the floor. it’s flamable and heavy ! The 50 kilos you wanted to remove will be reach lol
Well done, post more about the k11 please. I have the same facelift for project :) I'm planning to remove the carpet and seats also to do sound deadening
I really love this build. I was also thinking about buying a Micra for some trackday fun and swapping it with GA16 engine from P10 primera, but I do not have space for that :D for some more weight saving I recommend cutting the "inside" of the bonnet and tidying stuff around the engine, you can take another like 15kg down.
Oh yeah been waiting for this. Are you the only Swede with facial hair lol. Car is going to be so much fun for the track. Plus if it's track only you can be so aggressive with the wheel alignment. Btw with some dry ice you can remove that built in sound deadening material on the floor and trunk. It's quite heavy. A harness bar and harness and i think you're ready to go.
I'm glad that you got these seats. But man, the frame, that you did fabricate... Why didn't you use some sealing foam? The god damn thing will begin to rust soon from the inside, or not? Anyway, I'm so glad about every of your videos, my friend. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 to Sverige 🇸🇪
Thank you for your comment. 😊 No, the inside will rust very slowely, it will take a very very long time before there would be any structual rust to worry about. However I did coat the inside of the tubing with rust protecting fluid film because I'm OCD😂, so nothing to worry about! 👍
@@ejoautovideos Good to know, I'm an OCD too. I work as a mechanical engineer here in Germany. In 2015 we built a prototype of a new machine. So we showed it to our potentially customers and one of them said, hey, is it a new machine? There are rust spots everywhere! And parts of the main frame were also build of tubes. So, since that moment, I'm too sensitive considering rust 😅 But I also believe, OCD is a kind of a normal thing for people working in craft...
I enjoyed the videos very much. FROM "Restoring Engine Bay...." video: Regarding the heat shield for the exhaust, would you also consider using a penetrating oil on the three bolts? The popular penetrating oil that has the long red straw is what I have. I intend to bend the straw around the back of the shield in order to try to spray the bolt, and do what I can to treat the bolt head from the outside. And let it soak for 24 hours. Just so I can avoid drilling out the bolt if it has rusted badly. I guess the exhaust manifold will smoke and smell bad for a while - but wouldn't it eventually burn off and not be a factor? Do you still remember the size of the bolt you replaced, by chance? I'm doing something similar. With the same mindset actually. I did an AC delete and moved the alternator. The brackets for the ALT were very rusty and I sanded and painted them - came out great. Mange takk in advance.
Penetrating oil and brushing away loose rust is always a good idea. However, in that case it didn't do much because the head of the bolts seals of the threads, so in that case heat is your best friend. The bolt size is normal M6 thread if I'm not mistaken.
Oh yes the Micra back strut tower rust. I was striping the trunk down and discovered the exact same thing in mine but my rust holes were a bit smaller so I know how it feels Actually learned how to weld on it later. The build is coming along nicely, excited to see how it performes on the track!
Thank you for your comment, really appreciate it! Do you have a forum post or anything about the weld repair or if someone else has documented it? I'm thinking about the process about it, how I can form the sheet metal the easiest way possible etc. I could use some inspiration for it. 😁
@@ejoautovideos no sorry, it was a hack job really, just to get this old turd going. Good luck on your repair though, looking forward to seeing how it supposed to be done 😁
I've never seen a K11 rust there. That's more the N15 Almera's party trick. It might be best to try and source a clean replacement OEM panel from a scrap car, then weld the whole thing back in. I don't believe you can buy the panel brand new, OEM or aftermarket.
Yes, I looked for replacement panels, but could't find any unfortunately. :/ So I'll have to patch it up. As long as there isn't a gaping hole, I'm happy 😊👍
Last time I went on a track day there were 3 yaris' that were modified into track day cars, standard engine (1.3 iirc) but had coilovers, semi slicks, big brakes and Subaru back boxes. They went amazingly fast. Maybe an idea for the exhaust for you, look forward to seeing this in action.
Rust is the killer of these old Japanese cars. I’ve seen some of your previous videos and I know you’ll do a good job repairing it. Looking forward to seeing the video, but don’t forget bro… Rust is lighter than carbon fibre bro 😂😂
