That thing is pretty good. Sounds way better than my similarly priced Eastwood when it strikes an arc. Love that car too, even more now with the turbos.
Great channel and input. Def. don't need pretty welds or perfection to build a damn good turbo kit. I'll say your WG and your turbo are reversed priority wise. Esp. when running twins and low back pressure, WG priority is key. You want a direct shot into the gate so it can control boost pressure the best. Super common for setups like that to have boost creep issues. Which may or may not be an issue depending on how ya look at it! lol Best of luck. car looks killer!
@@bluecollarperformance1331 Those are some big boys! lol. FWIW I run 2 cheap china 38mm on twin 78's on a 1926 model T w a 5.3 . Boost control is right on point if ya get'm positioned well. Best of luck! boost creep is fun anyway!
It was on 220. I haven’t tried it on 110 yet, we did try the spool gun a couple of days ago. I really believe it would work well in the hands of someone who actually knew how to use a spool gun. I made some welds that I believe would hold, but my buddy laid down some nice beads with it. I’m really happy with the whole thing.
You welding mild steel or is that stainless ? If that’s stainless what wire are you using I plan on mig welding a turbo kit too but I’m just curious. I also have the miller 211 and it is indeed a amazing welder it’s about 10 years old and going strong in the shop.
That was all mild steel with the exception of some of the v band flanges. I was running the white box .030 wire that came with the welder. The 211 is an outstanding machine, and I’m super happy with this Primeweld as a home welder. I haven’t ran into anything yet that it doesn’t do well.
Does your 180 wire speed go by increments of 4-6 when trying to adjust it? Got one last week and it skips by 4-6 and barely welds 1/16, primeweld said it wasn’t normal they were sending a new one then he was wrong it’s made to go by 4 and it’s fine nothing wrong? But my old harbor freight welder blows holes maxed out on 1/16 metal and this one maxed out waited 2 years to justify buying a primeweld and it’s a junk one they act like they don’t want to warranty 🤣
Mine seems to skip numbers on the adjustments too, but it welds amazing. I’ve played with the wire speed both up and down, and it seems to have a pretty big window where it runs good. I haven’t had to deal with them on any warranty or anything, so I have no firsthand knowledge of how they are about warranting things, but all the reviews I read prior to this said they were good about it.
@@bluecollarperformance1331 thanks for the reply back, your first person I’ve heard there’s does same thing which in reality it’s not a big deal as far as setting it and welding just don’t want it to be a problem later on,I used a miller that did similar years ago and had to replace some parts when it was new it got to point I couldn’t set wire turn it up it went down 🤣 I’ve bought a couple things from them before and any issues were handled less then 30 minutes Dustin had a new regulator overnight before I even checked my messages and all I did was post a video on there facebook group asking if it was normal lol but that’s why I wanted to try more from them everything has been positive till I get this one that has something up with it not bashing them I get some parts are just bad with everything, but thanks for the reply just trying to figure out what’s going on with it lol
