I am 81, and I've watched almost every video there is about building log homes, and yours has just the right balance between voice-over and video to support the action. Best of all, you both come across as "real" people doing real work - not just some scripted channel. Yes, it's rough - but it's honest, and I like that. Good morning!! Congratulations to you both that’s a very big task your doing love built my house 40 years ago and it’s still standing. My wife and I made it though the the whole process witch can be stressful at times but we did it and we are still living in that home
That spoke shave should work better that what I saw you doing. It might be time to put a better edge on it. The work will be a lot easier. Can’t wait to see those walls go up.
I have also milled alot of lumber for a stick built cabin and one trick milling I came across later in my project is..find out where you want to cut for your D log, then cut 1in taller, then cut for the top, bottom or side of the piece you want. Then your left with a whole bunch of 1x lumber. Stack that aside. A stack of 1x lumber can and will come in handy. Even if it's only going to be 1x3 lumber you still need trim for your house.

I first see your channel with you two fishing and that was nice and very nice fish. So I just see you on RU-vid doing the cutting for the cabin. You are doing well and it takes two miss make things work so don't count your self out. I see you two fishing like heck but I haven't seen either one of you eat one you love fishing but hate eating the buggers. Time take Time gets done when it does. I know what you are going through because my wife and I built our own house in the town on Naples back in 1986. It was a very long spring , summer, and fall as I was working on the house during the day and working second shift in a machine shop at night, but it was worth it so hang in there and it will all work out in the end.
