Thanks for a great instructional video Adam. However, it would be amazing if you were able to put together a ‘shopping list’ of parts and ideally where to buy them, especially the metal bars and brackets. I am going to try and make a free standing version if I can since I live in a rented house so not so easy to sink the posts in concrete!

Maybe you could make a free standing pull up/muscle up bar from scaffolding. Like an A frame or something.

@Adam-Builds-It

Hi, they are called rail base, or pipe base. It's a galvanised fitting that you put the pipe into which clamps on with the hex bolts. It then has two holes to fix to the wooden uprights

Brilliant thank you for the inspiration too. May I ask how you’re getting on with it and also finding the tube diameter you used? Do you think the 42mm tube would be too thick?
@Adam-Builds-It
@Adam-Builds-It 3 года назад
If you do an OK sign with your hand and measure the diameter of the hole made by your thumb and first finger, thats a good diameter for the chinup bar. It gives you an idea of your best grip size. 42mm should be about right. Im getting there, but less inclined to use it in winter ! Up to 10 chin ups and 16 dips now.

nice build! i am planning something similar.i am thinking about drilling holes in the post for the bars and put the sockets on the back side of the post so it hangs in more than 2 screws. and fill silicone in the drilled hole. and tophats in galvanized metal for the post`s helps a lot. hope that makes sense nice that you menchen both cm and inches.
