Man this was such a great episode.I was always curious how you guys transitioned to doing this full time. I dj full time for the past three years and I have a wife with kids and a home so I completely understand those early struggles but it let's me know that it is possible.thank you beat junkies.

I feel like I was born on the tail end of true creativity. Early 90's people were still really innovating by modding different audio devices together in the garage and you had to work way harder to make it and there were few that did make it. Nowadays the waters are so muddy and everybody does the same stuff and the only technology changes that come are when a company makes some new software or computers get better. The technology is taking the skill out of the artist and now you have 7 year olds that can win the world championship. I'm 27 and aspiring to learn hip hop scratch DJing and I feel too old already

I've never related more to a podcast ever. I'm going through what babu was going through during his 20/20s age.

Man... The part that resonates the most of what these brothas explain about each of their come ups is when Choc said it was tough finding DJs who were like minded in the style of DJing that they were in to... That’s the island I think any of us who live love and practice turntablism all have been on or may still be residing... Crazy...

i just like you guys. grew up with your mixtapes. had the german hiphop magazine "backspin" cover with babu and shortkut on my wall when is was a teenager... edit: so interesting to hear with the wedding and mobile dj in the u.s. i just started to play in clubs and bars... ok to be honest there was just one club bc i grew up in a 100 000 ppl city (austria/europe).

We need to slow down the dj technology and get back to the craft I think we have enough for the next 5 years.

I will never go pro, after 6 years of playing out at clubs almost every week I known this: I can't make a living of it. Its sad but that's my reality
