✨ Ikea Greenhouse Cabinet Hack✨ this was always sold out in stores so I literally sobbed when chucky surprised me with one for my birthday. This @ikeagreenhousecabinet is made using the milsbo wide cabinet. Here is my step-by-step instruction on how I turned this in to a “greenhouse” set up! Enjoy!

While setting up one of these cabinets definitely is a bit of an investment, mine did not cost anywhere near as much. The choice of grow light she used was the same price as the cabinet itself. Since she decided to use a very high-end and expensive light, this is why her total cost was so much higher. There are plenty of other high quality grow lights on the market that fit perfectly in any of these Ikea cabinets and are WAY cheaper in price so I would just suggest doing your research and shopping around a bit. Also, the peg board is 100% going to get moldy; its just inevitable. I can't emphasize this enough, but I would HIGHLY recommend spraying it with some kind of weather sealant before installing into the cabinet. I've had my Milsbo wide cabinet now since Jan 2021 and did eventually have mold issues with my peg board because I did not seal it initially. Since my cabinet typically sits between 90-95% humidity without me even needing to use a humidifier, I still ended up with some mold growing. I had to purchase a new board as a replacement, and make sure to spray with weather sealant and allow it dry for a few days before re-installing into the cabinet. Trust me -- you do not want to have any issues with mold!!! The spores can still linger around for quite a while, even after you thoroughly clean/wipe out your cabinet and you will, without a doubt, start finding mold growing on any plants you have in there.

What type/brand of weather sealant do you recommend for spraying? Do you spray it directly onto the board itself? If I got a plastic pegboard, that would not be an issue, correct?

I have a mother grow light too, a smaller one. I love it! Yeah not super cheap, but I think it’s the best. Wow your cabinet is looking good! The plantys will be loving it in there, can’t wait to see updates.

I've started living in my Nans flat which is 38 sq meters and on 9 floor which means 24/7 raw sun- which absolutely almost destroyed my plants- it's a nightmare, bcs I'm no plants specialist and those babies cost me almost 3 years of taking care of them. So I'm absolutely deep in the Ikea grerenhous ear- thanks for the video

Thanks! Yup unfortunately I had reroot one baby already, and have to do them a bath every 2 weeks, because they're getting dry pretty quickly. We have curtains, but I'm afraid it's the humidity and the temperature here- I'm also planning to invest in a humidifier for overall comfort of living here. And for the future if the greenhouse won't be a nescessity- it'll be a cool addiction to the house somewhere :D

I just got my rudsta tall cabinet a week 1/2 ago!!! I am sooooo excited and soo happy with it! I can see a HUGE difference in my plants already! ive had soo many grow new leafs right away!! can you please list your humidifier? also I watched some videos where they recommend not using a humidifier because it can cause mold. instead they just use humidity trays, what do you think?? I have just been using a tray and my humidity level is always 80%. I would love to know what humidity percentage your cabinet it. I hope you and your plants are enjoy it!!

How exciting!! I wanted the Rudsta but they’re only available on black. I hope it comes out with new colors in the future. I have not been using my humidifier constantly because as you said the humidity stays consistently above 60%. Omg there’s so much new growth and I can’t wait to share!!

I have the 3M double sided tape and then use the zip tie. But Zip tie itself is strong enough

Just don't let your plants touch the grow light because the light got pretty hot when it on.
