RCs are pretty addictive. We have probably close to 100. More than 80 for sure. Most of em are El cheapo brand. But we've got 4 Traxxas, an HG, three nitro crawlers, 4 or 5 boats, probably 40 plus quads/drones, 12 of so FPV, about the same for airplanes and boats. Most haven't been touched in years. Some (most ) are shelf queens I admit and some get used a bit. I My fav is probably the RGT crawler. Love it. I won an eBay auction and only paid $103 with delivery 😁. Great shop ya got.ine are covering the floor and walls and ceiling in a 4th bedroom. Can just swing the door I open and straddle around the room. Need to get rid of a bunch.

just get some osb and stud and build yourself an enclosed studio, do it before winter!! then you can heat/air con it, carpet it and have no echo and road noise. boom!

If getting sound dampening material like Auralex is out of the question, Cheap moving blankets and a few c stands and 2" dowel will help a lot with the sound quality.

I look in every upload for the Ftx Outback Geo/"FJ"....lol. Every single one. I've watched that one soooo many times. 😎 ...one of the BEST crawl vids ever made to this day. Cause it's just straight up awesome! Surely you must be waiting for its glass display for the center of the shop...hehehe...🙃 Seriously lovin the new shop layout. It's comin' along great and I can't wait ta see that carpet track!!!

I have some bad news! The GEO went back to FTX as it was a test sample I had, and the other FJ I sold cheap to a friend who wanted a decent crawler but didn’t have a massive amount to spend. But don’t worry… I promise an FJ will come back to the Channel soon!

I think you have a great personality, perfect balance off passion of the hobby, in it for fun don’t take it too serious, and a dash of geekiness to show off your knowledge. I only just come across your channel and really like your approach and the great reviews. Great work, keep going and I will be watching every video from you. In fact, I used to be a Kyosho Optima guy, but those days are gone. Your video has got me back into it with my children, cant wait till my new RC car comes through the post ! 😄

Awesome collection. I just got back into the hobby, bought a Pro-Boat Impulse 31 from a friend that has been upgraded. I wouldn't mind picking up a medium sized truck next year. I would move all the shelving along the walls, possibly go higher and keep the middle of your space open. I think if you install some more lights your shadow problem will go away. We have some LED lights at work maybe 2 feet by 3 feet and they can cover a 30+ foot radius. They are mounted 20 feet high. If you need more lighting in specific areas you can mount some lights lower maybe 8-10 feet above the floor. I like to use some small flexible halogen work lamps for fine work.

Someone else said moving blankets and I was thinking carpet or that pink foam insulation I believe you can paint the pink foam could be wrong but it's definitely worth looking into.

Hey Tomley, search for acoustic panels. John Heisz built some a while ago. All you need is some plywood, insulation material and some cloth. You know? Then you can put them wherever you want, even high on the wall. Anyway, it's looking fantastic there already! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

@@TomleyRC hey it's a lot of work ahead of you to be done and it will wear you out, if you want to get it done fast 👍 . If your like me in a project, which I doubt: I put a lot of time till I'm happy and very satisfied, and also get very little rest 😳. So get an inflatable mattress, or rest in hard floor 😁

Really awesome. Congrats and we LIKE seeing the Yarus tucked up in the shop. It's like the mascot. Forgive me if I have forgotten or missed it in the vids. but Tanyia had a Yarus RC kit. Be kinda funny to get the Yarus shell and put it on some firebreathing chassis. Hmmm that shop looks like a hangar to me. ;)

Some carpet and a few good sized foam squares would likely take care of the echo. I didn't really notice any echo in this video. It looks like a nice shop, always glad to see people being able to step up into a larger space or get better gear for making their videos.

you can put up a half wall make a small set with noise reduction squares. you'd be surprised how little goes a long way. just listen to difference when you are behind the row of cars on the shelf. much different echo. so happy for you brother, you got me back into RC's i have a 3 year old and its been great getting him introduced.

Some bass traps in the corners and fabric hanging up high will work wonders on the sound. But over all bud it looks and sounds great for moving just in! Congrats

some semi open cable suspended ceiling over little areas would help,even from a large sheet of Knauf insulation board .

Phil, I hear you on the sound issue (hahaha oh, ohhhhh) it's pretty reverby in there. As for the difference between sides, yes, I can hear it and it's not very much difference but there is quite a lot, everywhere. You may know that close-micing is your best option for now - as in, the ratio of volume between your voice and the background reverb as heard by the mic. When the money gets rolling again, I hope you make a priority of investing in a lapel mic. I've found the cheapest way to dampen acoustics is with 'Fibre Decking', from a fabric supplier. It would help a lot. It's been a lifesaver during the direst of acoustical times.

I do have a new mic now, but trying some different things to reduce it as much as possible. Have a box full of banners to go up, and will get some large acoustic panels as well

@@TomleyRC If I may suggest, then, since you have some banners, it may be worth your while to use stand-offs, so that they are a few inches from the wall. The trapped air between the wall & large banner should dampen higher frequencies quite well.
