take away 2: if you watched Diesel Creek first.... then at a later date you began watching Jesse... you can only assume that Jesse did something second. but wait... i challenge you to accept the possibility that it was only that you saw Jesse second ... and perhaps he did the intro first. mind blown emoji. deep thoughts by Jack Handey. PS no one is re-inventing the wheel when shooting youtube videos... no one is really copying anything... just learning from others, it's all good.
i sole that shot from Jpaydirt... agreed none of us are inventing the wheel here, but for the record I was doing that before Jesse even started youtube 🤷♂🤣👍🏼
@@DieselCreekI mean no disrespect when I say this because I like you and your videos, but I had already looked this up when people first started accusing me of copying you ...a while back. My first video doing this was in july of 2019, with my international 4700. I had already looked back to your videos to find when you did it first. Could not find one 5 years or even 4 years ago. Maybe 3 years ago? I just wanted to "reset" the record straight after what you just said. If anybody can prove me wrong, I am all ears. But its all public record. And I agree, it doesnt even matter because yours have a horn most of the time and mine are shot with a 360 camera most of the time. I had not even known who you were 4 years ago until I was at Andrews and he showed me the video of you building a roof over your shipping container.
@@jmuller86 none taken. I had started doing drive over shots in 2017 maybe earlier most of those old videos were so bad I made them private or deleted them all together, you’re more than welcome to do whatever shots you like. I’m not trying to argue about it either. I couldn’t care less, like I said I stole that from Jeff. lol
Those of us that grew up without a lot, we HAD to learn to do everything & anything around the house and our cars, trucks and equipment as we were not about to pay someone else to do what we could figure out. That's why they call us, Jack of all trades and a master of none, but it's better than master of one or NONE!
I just turned 70 last month. My love of 47 years and I so enjoy your videos! It’s fun trying to identify where you are traveling to pick up equipment having lived in Ravena, and a brother who lived in Coxsackie. We enjoy the longer videos and your explanations of your work also adds to our enjoyment!
So pleased Jesse. You make these video's for me to watch. From Trucks to buildings. threre no stopping you. When you put your talent to work. Thank you young man.
What I love about Jesse's channel is when he starts a project, it will get done. I drive a similar rig at work except it's the Hybrid model... ironically it uses more fuel than the conventional trucks 😂
You are busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. Great job getting the truck to pass inspection. New York has so many vehicle inspection war stories that will frustrate anyone. Thanks for the great video's. Take care. Your son's look all fired up. LOL.
Very enjoyable to watch a young family do productive things. I wish you all the best on your endeavors. You seam to have what it takes t make it all happen with a little common sense thrown.
Really excited to watch this series, but I truly feel like you should have bought a similar truck from down south to avoid the rust issues this truck has.
Jesse, i'm surprized that u had pass inspection without a front bumper! Butt u did pass. good job getting all of the things fixed.. ur kids like the truck.
Trying to register truck like that in a country I'm living, some agency would have you arrested for trying to do it with a vehicle in such state of despair, rust, tail lights zip tied, wires all over... You're really lucky being able to do that that in NY.
Ici en France, lors de son inspection technique, vu son état, ce camion irait directement à la casse. Bon courage pour la remise en état. Here in France, based on its condition during its technical inspection, this truck would go straight to the scrapyard. Good luck with the refurbishment.
It is mess with more Rust and a really bad Frame. Before spending time and money, i would suggest to clean and prevent the frame against corrosion. With a clean and solid base all the following work would be worth of spending. As others wrote, even here in Germany this Truck would never ever make it to a safety inspection
European laws on trucking and cars in general, do not allow for ANY type of sketchy rust on frames or brake components. The roads are much smaller, and much more densely populated. Any kind of component failure would result in a real disaster, hence no chances are taken with large dangerous vehicles. It is either correct and very safe or it cannot be on the roads.
8:00 Im a auto shop owner in PA. I was watching a video by Bernie Thompson. He is a wizard with diagnosing things. He was explaining how soapy bubbles will show a small leak. Under .005 Inch. Anything larger and it wont bubble. I mean it still kinda shows but ya dont get the big bubbles like ya do with smaller leak.s
Jesse, something else that works really good for cleaning greasy parts is the “Super Clean” cleaner-degreaser. I think it works even better than brake clean. You can get a gallon of it for $10 or so, just spray it on the part, and hose it off with compressed air. Doesn’t dry your hands out like brake clean will either
Thanks for sharing Jesse, when I listen to you narrating this video your voice sounds just like Tom Cruise the actor! lol 😂 seriously my friend! Cool truck and in my opinion, I think whatever you do with the truck is totally your business brother! Yall take care and Kirk from Louisiana is sending prayers and positive vibes to you and your family! Looking forward to seeing your next video on the big “family wheels”! Can’t wait to see the results my friend! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙋🏼✌🏻✌🏻
Man, I am so excited to watch this transformation! it looks like you’re going to have a battle with the undercarriage rust. I live in Georgia and we don’t have any of that. Good luck!
The leaking part around the 10 minute mark is a regulator. Carefully remove and clean but the sealing faces were a little feral. If you get some very fine sand paper on a sheet of glass, rub the faces till they come clean and even. You could try draw-filing but be careful. When ready to put back together, wash parts dry and use a small smear of gasket silicone on the outer seal surface, now re-clamp parts back together but only nip them up, let it cure for a few hours in warm place then tighten some more, fit and check for leak. If you still have issue, replace the diaphragm.
One suggestion would be a removable bed on adjustable legs. This way would could just have a carry bed with low sides then you have an option of building a second removable bed with a box camper for it that gives you a multi use truck and you have some flexibility. I wonder how a 20’ shipping container measures out maybe ?
Ah! You did my heart good at 13:45! Good old Loctite 545! I've been spreading that word for years. No comparison for air and petroleum product fittings.
I’m looking forward to the renovation and upgrade to the dream truck, should be an awesome series of videos and it sounds like your vision for it will turn out to be a pretty nice truck. Great video Jesse showing off your many skills and talent.
Very good on your explanations, you definitely have to have a vision on what you want the truck to do! Keep up the good content looking forward to the next one
Definitely keep it simple, light(er) and cheap as you can. I wonder if your other step fail was really because it covered the battery. Being buried in projects can get suffocating. It can suck away too much mental energy. Greetings from Australia.
Hej dear Jesse, thank you very much for the wonderful videos, you encourage me to watch your videos again and again until the end. And you motivate me to tackle projects like this. I'm currently working on a small project with a skid steer compact loader. Thank you very much for that and great respect on my part, as others have already described, there seems to be no stopping you from truck building :`D what's next? What really appeals to me personally is your compact loader, I just love it. Thanks for the many videos, I'm always looking forward to another one, definitely keep it up. √
I just want to see the frame sand blasted and primed to see the condition of where your starting at! .. glad to see you could down grade your gvw to 26000
that's going to be a nice truck when you get it all set up. we had several in the fleet at work. as far as your heat stuck on those hvac control heads are notorious for going bad since its all electronic just something to take a look at if the blend door checks out
Hahhahha , "it will drive like a Cadillac with some weight on it", I love it , I give similar arguments my wife but they never come true , I hope yours do. Thanks for the awesome video again.
I get home from work and check to see if Diesel Creek uploaded a new video, didn’t see one so I pop onto your channel and am happy to see one, start your video and you do Matt’s video opening style 😂😂. Great minds think alike lol
Better get yourself a good sand blaster and a diesel compressor for that project. Getting a truck from the North is always a challenge due to the rust. Nice rig Jesse, I’m sure you will do it justice!
The registration difference is all single vs tandum rear axles I believe. Or that is how it was where I lived. The insurance difference is massive too.
This vehicle could become many things with your talent. Maybe being used a lot to have some family time and trips would be something that you'll value and build memories with the family.?🤔?🙂
Sure ya know but SOAPY WATER is yer friend w the hunting down the air leaks! Congrats on the crew cab! Wild to see so much grease AND rust! We do not see corrosion like ya guys do here in west coast! Very excited to follow yer channel man! Cheers from Santa Cruz Ca
Dude, if that was my truck i would soak the whole frame and body down with fluid film, living in michigan non of my vehicles rusted out after spraying the inside of the doors, tailgate, rocker panels, hood, complete undercarriage Etc with it. i bought the Pro kit off amazon comes with 2 gallons and the sprayer and spray cans with a 360 degree hose for going up into the rocker panels and doors. it was used by the Navy back in the 50tys, they sprayed their ballast tanks to prevent rusting, its a Lanolin wax, great stuff.
I did that to my pickup truck one year and it just collected a crazy amount of dust , like half inch thick. I guess it works but I hate having a thick film on there of dust and oil. I plan on stripping everything down and repainting everything. maybe even with POR15. I will go the extra mile to make it nice again
I think its time for some form of blast cabinet Jesse, would be a huge help in refurbishing used equipment. But that means having a more serious compressor to make it work well. Great work as usual!
