Hi Anth. Getting the BSOD _ blue screen of death _ does not mean that the data is destroyed. The operating system may be toasted but the pics, video, and other files may be salvageable. As long as the hard drive still tries to start up you may be able to recover data. Take it to somebody who can boot it to CD with another Operating System and have them try to recover the files to another external drive. They may be able to then reformat the drive and get it working again. Just a thought that all may not be lost forever.

@@anthsallwonky My pleasure. You could also ship it to them. It may prevent them from reformatting it but they can try to get the files and upload them to like dropbox or somewhere. They would need your laptop to reformat and reinstall windows.
