As for the stairs, you can always get one of those chair lifts like my parents did for their stairs when they were elderly. I LOVE your house AND the stairs! ❤️

Stairs are great unless your kid has seizures.. I can't wait to sell this house for one with no stairs- and more than just an acre, but that's a whole different conversation lol The house looks great! It is quite an accomplishment!

18:09 you actually want your tub to be up against the studs that way your drywall or hardy board or whatever you’re using will float down over the tub lip. Maybe you’re doing something different that I didn’t notice either way love the content.❤

Got a tip fror you on the 12 2 x4 studs cut a 1/4 inch groove across the studs 1/4 inch deep across then protect it with a sheet metal cover to protect the wire, LAY THE WIRE IN THE GOOVE THE PROTECT IT WITH A THIN LAYER OF SHEET METAL IT WILL PASS CODE AND YOU DNT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PIERCING THE WIRE WHEN YOU PUT UP THE WALL

It's a little bit late but I've drilled through spots like that 13 stud "tree" by using a standard bit. When it hits maximum depth, I remove it from the chuck (still in the wood) and add a six inch extension. Repeating and adding extensions until I drill all the way through. It's kind of like a well driller would function. Thanks for the content. Keep on gettin' it.

I just want to put this out there, as cheesy as it sounds this is what im aiming for with my life. "vanlife" for the next 10 ish years and then eventually move to alaska. Im currently homeless but honestly channels like yours and a handful of others give me hope for the future. Thanks for the videos man. They're definitely keeping me afloat

I was born and raised in Alaska. We vacationed on Big Lake in our log cabin with a purple outhouse. Later as a teenager we moved to Wasilla Lake with our canoe and motorboat. My dad kept his plane on Big Lake and Wasilla Lake at our home year around. My dad was a Bush Pilot for hunters, fisherman and the Iditarod Race. I appreciate watching your videos of Alaska because I grew up in Alaska in the winter snow, the summers picking berries and fighting the crazy big mosquitoes. You are a total inspiration!!

Could add a sub panel somewhere on your 3rd floor to give you a closer distribution point and it might even save you some wire instead of having to go to the basement with each circuit. House is coming along nicely, you’ve got a great set of skills and are very inspiring to watch and learn from.

If you build chase walls. Insulate and vapour barrier the 2x6 wall before you build the second wall. Keeps it separate, it’s hard to seal a plumbing wall afterwards

If there's a water drain on your air compressor's tank, open the valve and leave it open until the next time you want to use the compressor. Start the compressor with the valve open and shut if off once the motor is started. It will protect your air tank from rust and enable your compressor to start much easier. Enjoy your videos. Just don't ring the bell in the Salty Dawg Saloon in Homer Spit when you first enter.

Hey Tim little life tip ! Next time you’re building those interior walls make sure you insulate the exterior wall behind where those pipes are ! You’ll be making it a lot easier on whoever is insulating ur home while at the same time reassuring yourself that the exterior wall behind your pipes will be insulated properly! You don’t want to spend all this money 💴 and then your first winter in your new home your dealing with frozen pipes and entering claims on your homeowners insurance !! 5 minutes of thinking ahead can save you thousands of dollars in your future !! Let me know if you’re interested I’ll send out a team that will insulate your house so good your cost for heating will literally be peanuts every year ! Also I would guarantee you pass inspection the first time and at the same time you would come in at least 10% if not more under the required number on the Alaska blower door test ! This way your residence would qualify as (green) energy efficient and you would get tons of rebates back from the state after you qualify! If everything goes as planned your insulation cost for the installation of it will pretty much be covered bye the state with little to no money out of your pocket !👍

Love your videos Timmy! Seeing the views from your house makes me want to see what’s around close to home for you there. Maybe a video of some paddling on the river there or fishing on the ocean or climbing some of the peaks you can see from your place ?
