Well, a great video, as usual. I don't know how much I have learnt from Luke's videos over the time since I do also keep only Australian skinks and monitors in Europe. What a great source for inspiration. However, in this case I would have done 2 things differently: 1. Personally, I am done with glass sliding doors for tailormade terrariums. It's difficult to clean the terrarium if you can only access half of it, but the most annoying thing is that the glass tracks get dirty and congested easily and then it's difficult to slide the doors. Somehow the glass tracks will never get Clean again regardless of how often you Clean them. I have therefore started to build swinging doors with hinges and use acryl-glass for the frame of the swinging door. I think it looks so much better than sliding doors apart from the improved functionality. 2. Your posters do look great; however, I would have built a background wall in order to give them more room for climbing and movement.

Luke again just keep stunning us with your projects. I think it was the right move to move on the geckos and shape these palaces up for your gilleni grow outs. So satisfying to see them running about and exploring everything. Thanks for the new video was a pleasure to see your builds in process

My favorite GTP book suggests using that kind of form-ply. Have you also used the PVC sheeting? If so, how do they compare?

So sorry I missed this comment. Yeah I have used pvc sheeting. Pvc is way lighter but softer. Formply can take a beating and is a lot cheaper. Pros and cons to both. Personally I like working with the formply more.

hi mate just wondering how the uvb goes sitting on the mesh did you have to get stronger uvb or is it fine only asking because i hear people whinge on forums about it not getting through and wanted your opinion about it as i wouldnt mind building a couple of these myself. great vids mate always great to watch i have learned alot from you over the years

G’day Jason! I used a pretty open style mesh and a 12 or 14% tube, so on the stronger side. Where a lot of it gets cut out is the distance between where the animal can access it from and tighter weaved mesh. My mesh has square holes of around 5-6mm so more than any off the shelf reptile enclosure. That’ll allow a lot more uvb penetration. Also the animals can physically climb from the bottom to the top and if they choose, hang off the mesh soaking in as much uvb is they want. Taller tanks and mesh I always choose higher output globes.
