Welcome to our RU-vid channel!
We are loving family that live in Bamboo Huts in Rural Thailand. Damo (me), Ryan (my husband), and Otis (Our Son) spend our days taking care of the land and the animals and enjoying each others company.

Formally Ryan worked for "The Coffee Club Thailand" Chain, but now we have opted for a simpler lifestyle, and living in "The Now". On the vlog we will show you what it is like to live in Rural Thailand, details on plants we grow on our land, and most importantly our honest and authentic selves, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Thank you for your authentic and real vlog on your life in Thailand. I am inspired by your life. You have done well to conquer your addiction and become a fine husband and father. I find it interesting to learn about your life and the process of building your home with local people using traditional methods. I do feel a wonderful calm in your videos. Your wife seems a lovely soul. I too have always been shy, and prefer spending time in nature as opposed to busy and pointless gatherings. I am now happily retired with a loving wife of 50 years. I feel blessed. I conquered my shyness to be a successful high tech executive travelling the world and exposed to many people of means. I resonate with your comment concerning the local builders, who may struggle to make ends meet, but are happy and no doubt proud of what they build. Keep up the great progress at being the best you can be as an individual, a husband and a father.

The honest content of your vlogs is what made me want to become a subscriber of your channel, it's helped me to appreciate my family, Japanese wife and 4 kids. I found some strength from your honesty about addiction and depression as I have been dealing with the same ,I quit alcohol 5 months ago now and life is much better for me and the family. Your son is very similar to my 2 year old boy, I don't understand why anyone would want to criticise your wife she seems to be a kind and gentle soul and you both have a very natural way of parenting. Precisely, branding someone no personality is unbecoming as he's just a simple provincial girl . Being honest with good attributes is Paramount rather than faking jumping infront of a camera . I think Damo is great on camera. Being a little shy isn't a negative trait, she's a hard worker, a good mom, intelligent and I think she's a big contribution to the channel. Love the channel, such a great family in a beautiful setting. I envy your life but also find it inspirational. Much love from America! Sidenote, do people use groundcover or stones/gravel at base of building to limit splashing up on siding? Might save some maintenance.

Dig a bit of mud out along all your painted walls and put down a bit of plastic sheet, then fill with stones and it should keep your paintwork cleaner for longer, make sure water can escape from the plastic underneath the stones.......

Yr outdoor kitchen will turn out well even on a tiny budget. Honestly, I like it with the nipa roofing at the side. Looks unique to me. Otis looks adorable even when he is crying. As for yr wife, yes she is camera shy just like me. Is nothing bad really. Constructive criticisms r good. It makes us how to improve ourselves for the better. B st regards to u n yr family.

I have the same problem with my white siding turning a red clay color here in Georgia from splattering rain. I poured crushed 2-3" slate chips along the foundation wall just below the siding and no more red splattered siding. It has to be thick enough to keep the muddy water from rising above the rock level in really heavy rain or you are right back where you started. Any rocks will do. Even bigger rocks would work.

With the depth of the Pool put washed river sand under it to raise the height will be cheaper and faster to do and soft to stand on . With the toilet rings i would have them moved more away from the house and also put a stink pipe up so you don't have any smells coming in to the house when the window is open, I have been caught out on that before we built a New Home all wester style toilets and all toilet pits away from the home . I would hope you use a Gravity Tank to flush toilets rain is cheap lol. wish you luck with what your doing . From Na Di Thailand.

Yes pipe installed, concrete used to raise the pool with a layer of sand for comfort.of sand too deep the worry is burrowing animals entering the opening and digging under 👍🙏

Hi, Geoff from the uk, I watch all your vids, and enjoy them all, i just wanted to say, I wish you and your lovely family all the very best that life can give you, you have worked soo hard to get to where you are today, you are such an honest and open chap, with many strings to your bow, and very impressed with your thai speech too. When in Sri Lanka many yrs ago , out in the country ,went out and left the light on, came back, there was hardly any room for me, the walls were crawling with all sorts, yet in the morning light, all gone, took me back there with your night vid , love the way you deal with your negative comments, don’t think I could be that calm lol. Raw Bamboo shoot is served in Japan as Takezushi.., more commonly sold pickled in jars as Menma. Ive seen cattle run across a field just to eat Moso bamboo shoots on the other side of fence... All species of Bamboo are edible each with its own subtle flavour differences. There is even a specie of bamboo in Guandong that produces a fruit like a small fig‼️If you added a sun mosaic or mural to the back wall of the kitchen you could think you’re in Mexico or Spain...only workers speak some dialect of Nahuatl I am not familiar 👀👍🏽😉😀

some places lay a berm of gravel around exterior of building to prevent dirt splash-up and wick water way from wall and footing. Though you may have critter concerns with this method without due consideration. Also, it may be possible for Otis to go to uni in Germany, staying at her aunts for example and saves tuition cost outlay, unlike Uk or US. but with eu changes etc thais used to have priviledges with germany years back if I recall.

Shy is an aspect of personality. Damo is great for even being on a YT channel that she did not plan. My wife would break my camera if I tried to get her on YT.

Hiya...I agree with u totally about it lads education...uni isn't b all and end all especially here in UK...so many ppl go uni and end with nothing but debt ...in England that is...nothing wrong with local school there in thai...also has urself and his mom for help and support...I think u have really achieved a gud place for urself and family...well done to u all ...I am 59 now and wish I had took the opportunity to live in thai yrs past beautiful country and I will always go back for hols...my son has said he is thinking of just upping sticks and going thai and I told him I would never try and stop him e has a friend out there that did just that and has never looked back and is still there now and loves it was 18 when left n 23 now...has a really good quality of life and freedom...the for ur vids they r really good...and make me think why did I not just do it like I know I should have...well done to u...and anybody else that thinks of going to that beautiful country...🇬🇧

you said it right about your wife , she is a lovely person and I love quiet and reserved. Us natives were taught to be quiet and show respect and respect ourselves.She loves staying in the background and loves her gardening and working around her home. Love her
