I did very similar mods to my F56S Mini -the only difference was I added some additional chassis bracing to keep it even flatter in the corners.

This reminds me of my last mini I had I absolutely loved that car sucks that some one crashed into me and got it written off, i’ve got a brand-new mini after the crash but as much as I do love my new one it’s just not the same like I can feel the difference in the handling like the newer model minis feel more grown up compare to the older ones that feel more lively

I had a pimped mini cooper.. supercharged 220bhp. 18s will rub out arches. To stop rub suspension has to be adjust higher. The set up I ended up with and loved was 15" rims and low profile tyres meant car could be slammed and not rub. Plus the car went through the gears like it had a close ratio box and wouldnt drop out of the power band, but the negative...speedo was out by 10%. Great fun car. Surprised a lot of the usual hot hatches.

An 80,000 mile R56 means three things - timing chain, decoke and valve stem seals

At 111k on my R56. Time chain and S belt did go out, however the s belt has went many miles over expectancy. Quoted 1.2k to get them fixed, and was able to repair them myself. And I don't know shit compared to a mechanic, but I've done all the work on my mini and as am female. Tired of people complaining they are unreliable or hard to work on, cause they're not. Went to a diesel show, and these truck owners called an Audi euro trash, without a doubt they said negative shit when I pulled up my R56, however no fucks are given here. Every car at x miles can be expected to have something need repaired, but many exceed and are reliable. Minis follow shortly behind Toyotas in reliability (seriously search it up), and are above average on reliability than most cars you can get in the state (search it up, beats almost the entire competition, very few in front of the mini)

@@arier56cooper72 my buddies 06 mini s was probably one of the funnest and simplest cars to work on, 118k timing chain went bad so we resealed the motor and redid the timing chain. after that car ran amazing and then after about 150 miles someone ended up hitting us head on in it. I couldnt believe how safe the mini was compared to the toyota mini van that hit us head on doing 40mph. sadly he didnt want to pay $1100 for the car back and didnt want to fix it. Changed my view on german cars for sure this time as my first e46 was more reliable than anything else besides my toyotas. Mini definitely took the cake
