I have this and it's great. The "Destructor" unit has modes for tape simulations, entire mastering layouts including some excellent lower-fi setups which make finished songs sound like they come from the mid 60s, etc. Just touching the surface of all it can do. I haven't even talked about the central purpose of guitar/bass amp sims. Full Axiom is unbelievably deep. Just get it if you don't have it.

Great video and I love AXIOM. It's kind of a must-have IMO for those of us into plugins. It's so deep it's really easy to make something not-so-great, but it gets some of the most believable simulations out there IMO. Especially in the clean/crunch realm. Where it also excels is loading something like the Neural DSP Nolly, which has no modulation built in. So many slots to load things in. AXIOM is so well thought-out. That Tone explorer page is crazy good. I feel like Blue Cat would sell way more copies if people were more aware of that feature. I had the plugin for months & months before I even realized it was in there. It's a sleeper feature but ought to be way more up front IMO. And to answer your "poll", I do almost all my stuff with plugins or modelers of some sort. I still like to mic up my old Vetta II Combo too. It's an amp, but it's an early modeler. I guess that still counts?? Maybe not. You may be talking about skipping physical cabinets.

I play live in church using Gig Performer 4, Helix Native and a couple of reverb plugins from Valhalla DSP. Axiom looks good though, but got to experiment to see if it can fit my needs. Good demo!

I'm pretty intimidated by this kind of thing, though I know I'll have to come to grips with it at some point. I'm old enough to remember recording using a little Fostex 4 track cassette tape thing, which was... less than amazing, but fun. You made this thing seem relatively easy to use, so I guess I'll start exploring these kinds of things. I'm just such an idiot when it comes to what tools I'll need, how much I need to spend to do what I want to do, etc. I'll get there someday!

This thang got me thinking: I am desperately looking for a way to simulate an effect from my PCM-70. Sick of lugging it to gigs. But, it's like a 7-tap delay with flanged on each tap. It's called 'Psycho Echoes' and it rules - I use it with guitar, box, flutes, even viola. Jay, iI know this is a plug in, and it wouldn't be capable of this, but f you know of any technology that would work on a pedalboard that might be able to do this, let me know! Thanks.
