Just a theory but Iida's legs are most likely way heavier than a normal person's legs which would explain why he doesnt always have his legs taken out from under him when he activates his engines. On top of that it seems feasible that he can turn his engines on and off at will with precise timing while he's running so he doesnt scorch himself with the exhaust although i assume his hero costume is designed to shield him from such burns anyway.

or it could be that his running mechanics are different hence would have no reason to burn his legs or butt like he raises his legs up high in front and at back he extends it straight since he is running extremely fast we can consider he would hover a little

Iida does seem to run different than Allen; in most of the positions of his legs while running, the thrusters are pointing in the same direction.

Guys, he does use the quirk in the anime. You can clearly see he only uses it during his stride and immediately turns it off after. Like there was even a clip of that in this video.

What if...Tenya’s centre of gravity IS in his calves? Or at least closer to them. Maybe the engines in his feet weigh so much that it shifts his gravitational centre, and that’s why he doesn’t always spin in circles

Monarkh Like 20 on each leg to get the same result, but he'd need a Naruto run to balance the thrust and center of gravity. He'd also probably over-strain his abs and hamstrings fighting the engines' combined constant thrust.

I know this is just for a month but I think it is also possible to recreate the powers of: -yuga aoyama (a bunch of lazers on a belt) -Mina ashido (wrist mounted acid shooter) -tsuyu asui (boots with hydraulic cylinders) -Denki kaminari (tazer glove) -kyoka jiro (leg mounted sonic amplifier) -Mineta (plastic ball with strong adhesive... this would be trashy but at least funny)

Well if your talking about stupid teenagers/adults fucking around with lets say fireworks by holding it their hands then yeah they probably shouldn't deserve views because its not inventive, but with Allen Pan its similar but different in some areas, for example the stupid kids would be holding the fireworks, but allen pan would just make a fucking iron man gauntlet that just shoots fire works, Allen Pan deserves the views and subs because not only hes putting himself in danger, hes doing it in an inventive way.

Ray Poochman he's just s stupid kid who's had the chance to watch videos of people blowing their hands off so knows that's bad. Is not safe. Fun Fact: Originally the sparkles were way fancier, but I had someone helping me edit and After Effects didn't work in a Team Project environment so I slapped a bunch of crappy sparkle gifs in there last minute. I think it turned out pretty good 😂

i thought Iida's quirk was more of an acceleration created by the powerful force generated from his calve engines into his piston-like ankles, and that he modified his quirk prowess by using his calve exhausts as rocket boosts to his kicks and midair maneuverability. It's present when he is testing his base speed level during the physical exams, not letting his exhausts simply carry his body weight, but using weight transfers and timed pops under his large steps to propel himself, kinda like a flash step (actually exactly like a flash step).

I'm a high-school student revisiting this, but I have a small theory, speed in running is determined how quick you touch the ground plus how hard you push off, if there was a way to have rockets that were aiming downward to allow your legs to reach the ground quicker, it may allow you to run faster, I find the quirk cool, but also I have 0 clue if that would work any better.

Have you ever considered that Iida might lean in just a bit while running to prevent the rocket from scorching him? I mean I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure having a lower stance while running reduces air resistance and conserves stamina which would allow people to be just a bit faster for a longer amount of time

The Soviets built a wierd prototype "rocket shoe" in the 70s with internal combustion cylinders in it to give it unphysically strong springy steps and jumps so you could run faster.

Use a sequence of small control burst to time your sprint/jog then of needed amp up and adjust to a higher pressure. Repeat process

It's actually quite easy to see how he boosts himself, if you see the 50mt dash sequence, you can see plums of vapour when he lifts his leg, so I'm guessing he just boosts himself when his leg is on the air, basically making a long jump instead of a normal stride, would that make more sense?
