Today's video is all about how to build seedling or microgreen tables cheaply. For mine I used an old futon bed frame but there are so many options out there, even using wooden pallets.
There are many strategies to think about when selecting the location for your nursery, what technologies will help germination and so much more important information that I'll be discussing in this video.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Love how you repurpose material. I’m hoping to do something similar to start my market garden

Great build using repurposed materials which kept it out of the landfill and saved you some money.... and you learned some things along the way! I call that a win!

awesome use of the futon frame here! I repurposed a crib and made a rabbit hutch...this looks like something I would do!

That’s a great idea! I just started doing micro greens. I’m not selling at this point but just getting started and my wife and i are eating almost 1/2 of a flat everyday. Sunflower and broccoli are my favorites so far.

Haha nice man, perfect way to start. Microgreens are so delicious arguably better than field greens even.

"Looking Good" Steven...Very Wise to "Think Things Thru" even if it takes "A Few Thoughts", because like "They" say "Measure Twice and only cut once" ! That corner of the wall might be a good place to mount one of those "Pocketed" cell planters for Strawberries to hang down for not only fruit, but also to "Catch the runners and pot them up for "perpetual Strawberry" Production...Just a Thought !

Nature's Always Right It’s really rad how you’re trying to produce something different though! Like literally just grow everything possible. Hoping to do the same in the future once I build my earthship and have my own land, probably not gonna sell my food though because greens and fruit are literally “the fountain of youth” and I’m trynna live to be 200 years old and wrinkle free. But right now, being a broke college student living in an apartment in Sacramento, I’m very limited to what I’m able to grow...but it’s better than not growing anything at all.

You could try to place some jugs or barrels of water under the tables to retain the heat. It will "soak" in the heat during the day and give off heat during the night. That way you might not have to run the dryer to heat up the green house at all. Paint the jugs black to absorb more sunlight.

Nice idea, that's the idea of the brick wall as well, a thermal sink. Would be interesting to try water as well, thanks.

I didn't realize the wall it was a brick wall. It will have the same effect. Although you could utilize the space below the tables for water jugs to get even more thermal mass. The good thing about using water is it's cheap and you can easily remove it if it doesn't work out.

Nice build. What do you mean about being signed off to grow the three types of microgreens. Im CA do you need permission from the government to grow things? Please explain. Ray Valley, Eustis, FL.

Thanks. To sell at a farmer's market you have to get signed off by the county ag department for what you are growing on your land. It's supposed consumer protection, proving that we aren't buying food from somewhere else and re-selling it. But NONE of the customers even know we are certified or anything lol, it's a joke. If not selling at farmer's markets then there really aren't any rules. For the record though, screw the government and their "Laws" we don't need permission to sell food to each other, to deny us our right to do so is evil and anti-human. I want to transition to only private sales at some point so the state has 0 control. I'll be talking about these issues a lot more at some point.

instead of using greenhouse plastic could you just use a shower curtain which is 20 gage and just double it. That would give you 40 gage and a greenhouse cover is 30 gage. Which means you get 10 more gages?
@putrid_swamp_juice
@putrid_swamp_juice 6 лет назад
Depends on the plastic. I doubt a shower curtain will hold up to UV very well. But I'm no plastics experts. I left some storage bins outside and now they are all brittle.
@NaturesAlwaysRight
@NaturesAlwaysRight 6 лет назад
Not a fan of shower curtain greenhouses. Blocks more light, won't last as long not designed to withstand UV light because they are for inside use.
