Troy I crunched the numbers. In the past 11 months (closest I can get to a year) you've made 20 videos 10.5 about DC(marvel vs dc game) 10 about Games 7 about movies 5.5 about Marvel 4 about Spiderman 2 2 about IPs that deserve more love 1 about the Avatar 1 about Manga/Comics So I don't blame you about the 3 DC in a row thing DCs been popping off get yo bag😂
Yes and no :/ Guillermo del toro wanted to do a justice league dark movie and DC said yeah write a movie go ahead. So he started developing it, but it never really materialized. There was a time when WB signed on JJ Abrams to help with developing DC dark content and he was also working on a justice league dark/ Zatana solo film, but that also never got past writing and pre production. When the flash, black Adam, blue beetle, and Shazam 2 came out and all bombed (I loved blue beetle but I have to admit it lost money) and James Gunn came on to do a whole revitalization of the DC films department, the JLD stuff kinda fell through quietly at the same time as every other random DC project in development at the time
Not too surprising. They also had animators from the Spiderverse movies offer to do a Batman Beyond movie and before the pitch was even started, DC said no. Sometimes I really question the people in charge of these things.
@@straythorn0117 It literally had a full script. You can hear the story breakdown on the podcast "cancelled movie report" where they get the co screenwriter on to talk with them about the project.
Not surprising they did something similar with the Hobbit. He wanted to make 2 faithful adaptations of the book, while WB wanted to fill it with filler
I’d honestly prefer to have Barry start out as The Flash because one of the things I want to see adapted is Nightwing’s friendship with Wally/Donna and the titans
Considering the Batman movie they've announced is going to have Damian as Robin, that's still not 100% out of the question for having Wally be the league's main Flash, unless they erase every Robin before Damian from the timeline, which I would hope is such an obviously bad idea that they wouldn't try it given how well Nightwing's doing right now.
I honestly really wanna see the tight knit bond of the OG titans especially between Wally and Dick like you said as well as the iconic Barry and Hal friendship too
@@jamienichols9352 If we go by "cOMic AcCuRacY" then John & Wally won't be a thing. It would actually be Kyle and Wally, but people, including Wally Fans, don't seem to gaf about Kyle.
@@jamienichols9352 I believe you do not mind, idm Kyle and Wally as well... I personally think Kyle should be part of the Titans, but my gripe will always be for those who scream "copy accuracy" but are 100% ok if their Favourites aren't changed. It's like the equivalent of a Spider-Man Fan wanting "Comic Accuracy" while their favourite version of Spider-Man is Sam Raimi's Movies or ITSV Miles Morales.
I know it'd be easy to introduce Wally as the Flash and simply have Barry dead or missing in the Speedforce from the get-go, but I'd love it if they took more of an Insomniac Spider-Man approach and just have Barry no longer be the Flash full-time, maybe having him recently become a dad or something like that. I've always preferred stories where a hero has to forge their own identity whilst their mentor is still around, to me it's a bit more unique and if done right can really highlight the distinction between both characters (again, Insomniac I think did it really well and Barry and Wally could really use that). Not to mention it would put Barry Allen in a position we don't often see him or many superheroes in for that matter, and it'd keep the door open if they ever did want to feature things like Thawne or wider Flash Family centric stories.
In this case I think it would be better if Barry is dead or missing since its put a bigger pressure on Wally. Also it could lead to " The Return of Barry Allen" story which I think is one of the best Flash arcs.
@@huntertezz Both great points, I was definitely speaking in terms of my own tastes where I feel that the missing/dead mentor is a bit overdone by this point, but I could totally see that being the way they take it since that is the usual origin behind Wally's Flash. Either way I hope that whichever Flash they go with (assuming it's Barry or Wally) I hope that they don't dwell on the tragic elements of their origins too much and focus more on their personalities and relationships with other heroes or even their villains. I've always liked that their origins or key moments in their stories are fairly dark but it's never reflected in their personalities or actions, they don't let it overtake them like we see with Batman, so if we do get Wally's Flash I hope they don't dwell on the loss of Barry too much in his first appearance.
I personally would like have Wally as the main Flash but I don't mind if they keep Barry as The Flash but make Wally West a more revelant character. Even give to him his own project could be intresting. Imagine if they do an adaptation of Young Justice episode "Coldhearted" (my favorite Wally story ever)
FINALLY!!! Someone who says this!!! Another thing that can be mentioned is PUTTING WALLY BACK IN KEYSTONE CITY!! It's feeling shameful that he's basically taking Central City as his own when he operated in Keystone City for almost 20 years. Keystone isn't far, but it isn't too close either.
I think young justice did a really good job portraying the justice league having the main 7 in the spotlight but also having characters around like Shazam, fate, canary, arrow, red tornado
The Arrow himself's locations: - Left on the table in front of the Venom action figure - Hiding in the left corner of the top shelf beside the Mask - A bit harder to see, but he’s located on the bottom shelf between the cup and the comic, hidden by Troy's microphone stand
Honestly, in hoping Vixen gets a lot of representation in the new DCU, if she is a part of the roster for the JL I know she'll become truly as popular as she should be
Vixen is a very important inclusion for me personally. She was one of DCs first black woman hero, and she is consistently a member of the justice league. I think she’s a character that could easily become very popular among women, especially black women, with how stylish and cool she is.
Sorry but I'm team Barry, on the Green Lantern side, Jessica is also my favorite Lantern but I think introducing her that early is not a good idea, I think it would be better to see her get her ring alongside simon in a future season of Lanterns maybe
@@Geohillierneo Why? I don’t think Hal has ever been portrayed as John’s mentor. Why wouldn’t they go for the actual newer Green Lanterns like Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz?
10:35, bro Hal Jordan needs a mulligan after that Green Lantern movie from awhile back. Cut my man some slack and give him a chance. Maybe pair John Stewart with him too.
Honestly I would love to have Dinah on the League (Maybe even leading it) and Ollie not on the team officially, but tagging along sometimes and keeping them in check in his specific brand of aggressively getting in everyone’s face. Maybe not calling them nazis all the time like he used to do, but a few steps removed from that.
As a Greek person, WONDER WOMAN MUST BE PLAYED BY A GREEK ACTOR IMO. I even wrote an article abt this, there are barely any Greek heroes and honestly it would be so cool to have her played by someone Greek
I’m sorry, but in a lot of new 52 comics, Barry is an absolute CHAD, he isn’t even that joking, he is a no nonsense, family-driven, even vengeful man who actually deals with everything in a flash
So Barry as I know and love him. I remember his return before the reboot and the rogues being in edge because he was the no nonsense flash unlike the old man (Jay) and the kid (Wally West flash). No agreement you commit a crime you go to jail plain and simple.
My ideal lineup for the justice league is Superman, Batman, wonder, woman, Green Lantern, parentheses, Hal, Jordan, or John Stewart, The flash, Barry Allen, Aquaman, the Martian Manhunter. Basically the lineup of JLA from Grant Morrison. At least for the first movie. More members will definitely be added on as the universe goes on
Don’t worry I know. I just really like the series. The seven that I mentioned are the original line up. By Gardner fox. Which I think should be made into the new dcu.
I don’t think the DCU should copy the MCU at all and should just be it’s own thing. BUT, one thing they should definitely do is make it so each film feels so distinct and unique and different that when they merge to from the JLA it’s weird in a good way. It’s exciting, the MCU nailed that in Phase 1 and if the DCU was to steal one thing it would be that. I still think Pattinson should be the Batman for the DCU.
Nah Pattinson is too young for justice league maybe wait until his second movie? And then there will be time jump 10-15 years for third movie then we're good to go 😅
The original seven, plus Green Arrow and Black Canary, is my ideal line-up. You could add any Flash/GL combo, too. The only problem with that is that Barry is my favorite Flash and John is my favorite GL and they aren't my favorite combo
NGL I’d love to see Plastic Man on this roster because the League needs someone to handle the comic relief and Plas is the best guy to do that besides Flash.
*_Jessica Cruz?_* No, I would give it to Kyle Rayner, who should be matched up with Wally West. If not Kyle Rayner, then John Stewart. If Hal Jordan, he should be matched up with Barry Allen. The newer Lanterns shouldn't be given the big screen, yet. We've still yet to have an accurate big screen portrayal of any of the main 4 (Guy, Hal, John, Kyle).
Much as I loved the idea in Melissa Benoist’s “Supergirl”, can we… *not* have J’onn J’onzz playing a role in the military? I’m not even a hardcore anti-army guy, but I really think it doesn’t fit him; he’s a pretty independent entity who works in a team, not as a commander as much. I’m also willing to accept Guy Gardener as brunet - so long as he’s got the bowl cut - but can we *please* have a ginger Wally West? There are redheads in the acting industry, stop depriving them of these iconic characters!
Justice League should be: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash (Barry), Green Lantern (Hal), Aquaman. Later team members that join: Green Arrow, Black Canary, Shazam, Zatanna, Big Barda, Mr. Miracle, supergirl Titans who join later on: Cyborg, Nightwing Associated "members" who help but are not official a part: John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Orion/New Gods, Dr. Fate, mera, cat woman
Honestly i wouldnt wanna have them sideline Barry and Hal(Favorite Lantern and Flash admittedly)and as much as i love Wally I'd love to see Wallys journey from Kid Flash to the Flash after Barrys death/sacrifice rather than jump straight into Wally but hey thats just my opinion and I'd be fine with it either way
unfortunately this isn't a tv show where you can spend several seasons setting up long payoffs. When it comes to movies there's hardly a guarantee of a sequel. If you start with Barry then you're resigned to never using Wally. That's how it's happened every single time outside of the comics when they start with Barry. There's either never time or never interest in moving on from Barry.
8:02 no one is questioning how godzilla got fatter after almost killing kong and attacking japan again after GvsK and then turning pink after minus one
I really like John Stewart but I'm a sucker for Hal Jordan. The pilot that flew across the stars? The greatest Green Lantern ever? Wooof, that's the stuff of legends man. I need him to be the main GL
Just give me the big seven… please… Superman: Clark Kent Batman: Bruce Wayne Wonder Woman: Diana Prince Flash: Barry Allen Green Lantern: Hal Jordan Aquaman: Arther Curry Martian Manhunter: J’hon J’onns
I just want them to use the founding members for once. All of them meaning: Superman/Clark Kent, Batman/Bruce Wayne, Wonder Woman/Diana, Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, Flash/Barry Allen, Aquaman/Arthur Curry, and Martian Manhunter. No replacements. No excuses.
Love this idea and roster to death, but the only thing I hope they don’t do with Wally West being the Flash is for them to erase his friendship with Dick Grayson/ Nightwing. That’s such a pivotal and famous aspect of BOTH characters.
I really really wish they use Wally West as the current FLASH and keep him in the keague..and let Barry be the mentor and the elder type of person who passed his torch on to Wally! We really need Lucas Till as Barry Allen and a young guy in his early 20s for Wally West
For me it'll be similar to DCAU with some changes: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash (Barry Allen yet Wally West will take the mantle when he passes), Green Lantern (John Stewart), Hawkgirl, and Martian Manhunter. As time goes by, new members will be added and the roster will be like Justice League International with the inclusions of Booster Gold, Ted Kord Blue Beetle, Fire and Ice, Shazam, Dr.Light (Kimoyo Hoshi), Captain Atom, Vixen, Guy Gardner Green Lantern, Mister Miracle, Big Barda, etc. That's how I envision it.
I would love for Hal and Barry’s relationship to be explored as they are good friends. Would like to have one of them show up in the others show or movie to introduce them. Which is what phase 1 mcu did well showing characters in over shows to make it feel connected
11:54. YESSSS!!!! I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE SAID THIS!!! I am so tired of people saying magic is just instant death for Superman, IT IS NOT. I’ve told so many people about this and there’s still so many people who don’t know this. I’m glad a big RU-vidr talked about this.
My roster of 9 (each bringing something unique to the team): Wonder Woman Superman Batman Flash Green Lantern Black Canary Martian Manhunter Zatanna Metamorpho
John being in the Justice League is great because Lanterns seems to be John's very early days in the lantern corps meaning the audience will be able to follow John's journey.
The main advantage of Wally being The Flash is if you ever spin off a Flash project you can actually adapt any of the good Flash stories instead of Flashpoint.
My ideal justice league lineup is: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the flash (Barry), green lantern (Hal Jordan, then guy gardener, thenJohn Stewart), cyborg (not at first, same with Wally west), Martian man hunter, green arrow, aqua man, and plastic-man.
I hate the belief that Superman should be immediately God-tier and never be in any danger. There's so many versions of Superman where he just gets his ass beat. Like, the dude can still feel pain. He's not invincible, but he should have a very high upper limit that's built up to as his life progresses. It's cliche, but they should take a leaf out of Goku's book in that regard for the movie.
With everything going on in the new DCU and with certain characters being cast/confirmed (Batman, Guy Gardner's Green Lantern, Maxwell Lord, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle), I feel like we may get a live action adaptation of the Justice League International just like what this show did. I kinda headcanon for now that Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner's Green Lantern may be members of it with the team being pre-established by now with Maxwell Lord as their goverment liason and are not only Superman's "superfriends" but are trying to recruit him to join the team as well in the Superman movie. Eventually, Superman and Wonder Woman will join the team later on, and it'll will be more accurate to the original team.
I feel like a really interesting Justice League member or even just as a recurring ally character could be Red Tornado. He has NEVER (to my knowledge) been in live action, so I'd KILL for some appearances of him.
everyone talks about how important it is for flash to nail the comic relief, or for oli to keep everyone in check, but nobody ever mentions how cool of a dynamic it could be clashing red tornado, the stonefaced hyperintelligent AI longing to be human, with the seasoned human heroes attempting to understand him but still somewhat apprehensive to his inclusion. Red being added could introduce a dope dynamic
I heard that James Gunn was taking inspiration from Young Justice and I sosososo hope that's true bc that show was soooo much better than ppl make it out to be
I would like to see an adaptation of Kyle Rayner. Not because he's my favourite GL (That would be Guy), but because he has been pushed aside in the comics for a while now, wish is a shame, because Kyle is a very fun character, who i think would adapt really well to the big screen.
I would not mind if they added Shazam to the Justice League, or gave him a cameo in Superman, more Pre-New 52 inspired, so just a radio reporter kid by himself.
great video troy! but i disagree that mr terrific and kendra should be in the justice league. they should be in the JSA, its where they get the most focus and where they really shine as characters, as they're both legacy characters and get the best interactions with the other members of the team
I think using The New Frontier as the basis of the DCU’s JL/general universe background would be awesome. I’m a huge fan of that book. Essential DC imo. I’m like 99.9% sure that The Centre is gonna be teased at the end of the Lanterns show.
For the DCU, the JL should take some inspiration from the JLU cartoon, as well the Satellite Era, being portray as this pantheon of heroes who watch over Earth from their space station. As for the line up, it should be Superman Batman Wonder Woman Flash (Wally West) Green Lantern (John Stewart) Martian Manhunter Hawkgirl (Kendra) Zatanna Plastic Man Oracle
Honestly with how good the chemistry is between Hal Jordan and Barry Allen, I don’t think they can go with anybody else for green lantern. I think goofy / confident characters are pretty necessary to ease the tension from how serious / strong-willed the rest of the justice league can be (WW, Batman, superman). I think Flash helps a bit but him and Hal together puts it into a whole new league. It’s nice when the league actually feels like they’re somewhat friends. Imo Jon Stuart wouldn’t exactly help there (though he should definitely be a big character for the DCU)
First JL roster : - Batman - Superman - Wonder Woman - Flash (Barry) - Aquaman - Green Lantern (Hal/Jon, preferably Hal first then Jon) - Hawkgirl later additions to JL: - Martian Manhunter - maybe Cyborg - Green Arrow - Black Canary - Hawkman JL Dark: - Zatanna - John Constantine - Swamp Thing - Detective Chimp - Deadman - Madame Xanadu - Dr.Fate (unless he's a part of the Justice Society) Teen Titans 1 -> Titans: - Robin (Dick) -> Nightwing - Starfire (stays to mentor the next Teen Titans) - Cyborg (stays to mentor the next Teen Titans or joins the JL) - Kid Flash -> Flash (Wally) - Wonder Girl (Donna Troy) -> Troia - Superboy (Kon-El) -> Superboy - Aqualad (Garth) -> Tempest Teen Titans 2: - Starfire (mentor) - Cyborg (mentor if he doesn't join the JL) - Robin (Damian) - Raven - Beast Boy - Aqualad (Kaldur) - Blue Beetle (Jaime)
I'm stuck between wanting to see this new league be its own thing, and wanting to see the iconic original roster actually done well. I think I'd be happy either way.
Since its preadapted universe, i really want a new member like what x-men tas did with jubilee where we get introduced to the team from that character and grow up with the team like that character does
My JL line up" Trinity: Batman (Patterson, or around the same age as Superman), Superman, Wonder Woman, younger characters Blue Beatles, Zatana, Hawkgirl, Wally West Flash.
For the first Justice League Film the lineup I would go for is 1. Batman 2. Superman 3. Wonder Woman 4. Green Lantern 5. Green Arrow 6. Black Canary 7. Hawk-Girl I think the second film could introduce The Flash, Aqua-Man, and Martian Man-Hunter though.
Crazy how a normal man like Mr. Terrific can go around fighting crime I know there’s Batman but he’s basically the worlds greatest everything but Mr. Terrific on the other hand goes around with his *Big* *metal* *balls* smacking and shooting his enemies!
there is a lot of "normal humans" fighting crime and being super heroes in dc, i mean green arrow is a perfect example of a human hero, he is rich but not the richest person in the world, he is a good fighter but there is a lot of people better than him, he is not the smartest guy, or even the best archer in the world, merlyn (his villain) is a better archer than him, green arrow himself says that, and that´s awesome for me and for a lot of people, one of the better things about green arrow is that he is just a normal guy with a green bow, a real normal guy and not the type of "normal human" like batman who is everything except a normal human thanks to his superior skills and for the power that writers and executives gives to him all the time, i love a good version of batman, really love him (not the edgy batGOD that can do everything and is kinda a lunatic mean toxic guy, y hate that batman), but not all the human heroes needs to be like batman, batman is like the peak of humanity even when are people who are better than him is some aspects, green arrow is a better archer than bruce, nightwing is a better acrobat, mr terrfic and lex luthor are smarter than him, lady shiva or cassandra cain are better fighters, even some characters are better detectives than him, but bruce is a mix of everything, he is the top 1 in many skills but the top 2, 3 or even 4 in some others and that is fine, so the fact that people like mr terrific or even members of the batfamily like nightwing are there whitout super powers and the power of the script like batman, it´s something richer to the lore of being a hero in dc, the message than anyone can be a hero, even when the normal heroes are prodigies in many skills like nightwing arrow or terrific. (English is not my native language, sorry for the mistakes)
My ideal Justice League lineup is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Barry Allen Flash, Hal Jordan Green Lantern, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, & Martian Manhunter
I think to start we’ll have the JLI but my ideal team would be Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Black Canary and Hawkgirl (for some other members there are Elongated Man, Plastic Man, Atom, Supergirl, Metamorpho, Huntress and Question)
Oh, I love Justice League, and the animated series of the 2000s, the first Jeff Jones arcs in New 52 were cool. Also, apparently, it's not in high esteem here, but I LIKE Zack Snyder's Justice League. I also think that they should not repeat the plot with Darkseid, but go in some other direction. I even agree that there should be some kind of shadow threat that our threats would fight, ala Crime Syndicate, or as it was correctly noted in the video - Vandal Savage. I'd rather see Barry Allen's Flash and Hal Jordan's Green Lantern on the screen, because I think there's a very cool chemistry between them. Jeff Jones demonstrated this well in the opening arc of his League. As far as I know, Barry Allen's Flash from New 52 was liked by readers, and it would be possible to transfer it to screens. And yes, I would also like to see the Green Arrow on the big screens as part of the league. The Martian Manhunter, too... BUT, to be honest, I think that the cinematic universe can do without a movie about the League for now. I would like to see solo projects about each character (or about a separate team of heroes) with a unique vision of the director and that these projects differ from each other. And the league can wait for now. P.S. I wouldn't say that at the end of the Snyder League, Superman just saved everyone and everything. His appearance was incredibly cool and epic, and it still gives me goosebumps. But in the end, the situation is saved by the Flash, rewinding time, and the Cyborg, disconnecting the mother boxes.
I know it’s never gonna happen, cause having an “all white team” even for five seconds isn’t plausible anymore, but I’m still begging to see the original seven members form the Justice League
Personally out of the Lanterns I want on the League, I want Kyle Rayner on as a rookie, I love Kyle and I think he'd be really fun if they have it so John and Hal have already been on the team so he has a bit of a legacy to live up to. Also, out of the Lanterns Kyle always has the coolest constructs.
My ideal JL lineup would be 1 - 3 The Trinity (Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman) 4. Black Canary 5. Green Lantern (Simon Baz) 6. Flash (Wally West) 7. Steel (John Henry Irons) 8.Stargirl (Courtney Whitmore) 9. This one is an odd pick, but Giganta. I think it would be cool to see reformed villain join an iteration of the Justice League. Just to show the public that reformation is an aspiration.
I’m not a big DC fan. the only characters I REALLY care about are Superman, Batman, and Barry Allen flash so as long as they’re on the team I’ll be fine 1 green arrow under venoms 19 inches, 2nd green arrow next to the Spider-Man mask, and I think the 3rd is next to amazing fantasy
I'm a huge supporter of the Palestinian people, what's happening in Gaza and in Rafah is despicable and the Israeli government needs to be held accountable. I've included fundraisers for the PCRF in my two most recent videos and just updated this one's description to re-direct to a whole list of causes that matter to me.
