I’m so glad someone on the internet understands that you can’t just pick and choose characters from across the Titans rosters and expect the team to have the same magic. Their interpersonal dynamics are too important. Also I LOVE titans but I also know it’s terrible. It’s my favorite little trainwreck.
“Title sequences can make or break the show me for” that is wildly crazy. “Ah yes, episode is perfect, but that title sequence was awful so, therefore so is show” no character arc is told, completed, no acting, no action, no dialogue prob, no character interaction, nothing driving the story forward will make or break the show for you. I'm gonna say some blasphemy to teen titans fans but the original cartoon is not all that. It not only ruined the perception of most of the titans, it also was leagues behind young justice but teen titans gets glazed more. I truly think teen titans 03 is only loved for nostalgia (don't get me wrong it's a good show but it does not belong in best cartoons or even best dc cartoons)
To the guys who whine about Superman being OP, where were you during shonen anime with characters like Goku and Naruto, and where were you when there are superheroes like Thor or Ironman.
I honestly think that Cyborg being on the JL has always felt like a really cynical move to pre-empt criticism of using Hal Jordan as Green Lantern. It feels like he was just put there because Johns didn't want to take heat for having an all white roster, but wasn't willing to swap his fav out for John Stewart (the more popular green lantern) and with all this being before John Jones had been much more consistently portrayed as black Cyborg ended up as the black character they picked without really any consideration of how he fit into the dynamic or what that does for his relationship with the characters he's typically more associated with.
8:05 Hoh boy-o. The internet’s gonna adore that. Not that they could’ve had dated at some point but honestly it’d be nice to see Kori get a new love interest. Other than New 52’s interpretation, Kori is always just kinda stuck with Dick whilst he and Barbara and so many others have had multiple different relationships. Would be cool if she was dating…idk, a Thanigarian or an Amazon…a Kryptonian, just kinda spit balling here. Would just like to see something different with her. I’d definitely would like to see Supergirl and Blue Beetle as either temporary or honorary members at some point. To be honest, I’ve always preferred the Young Justice as a show and their roster of characters over Titans (not sorry), so if they want to just have the singular unified ‘teen to young adult superhero team’ I’d appreciate them blending the two with Miss Martian, Kaldur as Aqualad, Cassie as Wondergirl or even Artemis (or switch her name around in case you want to use the Amazonian) make some appearances in the future. Jessica Cruz could also be neat, but most of all…why don’t we bring in Sideways?
I would pick the idea of her beinf raised by Greek gods and kronos maybe they have a grudge or even beef woth wonder woman more so than others and they raise her to not only to kill her but be a replacement to do he rbidding but as time goes on in her own folm she becomes her own character and stsrts seeing wonder woman as a mother like figure
I feel like Supergirl wont be in it if shes getting her own solo film already where shes 21, and with Milly being cast so early id just think she'll be viewed as 'more important' than a teen titan, like it wont be Tom Holland spiderman on young avengers but it wouldnt be far off
I know the original Teen Titans cartoon has it's fans, but as someone who was BIG into the DCAU at the time, splitting it off felt like a slap in the face when the potential was there to do a great TT show and have some crossovers with Justice League. Tim Drake's Robin separation from Batman after the flashback events of Return of the Joker was the perfect catalyst to launch a new TT show from, even having him dealing with PTSD from his torture and brainwashing by The Joker as a character arch in much the same way the well respected TT episode Haunted explored the same theme with Robin and Slade. While Starfire, Best Boy and Cyborg and Raven, assuming we wanted the most popular core characters, would have needed to be introduced, another child character they could have brought over from the DCAU was Annie from Growing Pains as there have been various fan theories over the years to being her back, one of the best being J'onn using his psychic ability to isolate the buried Annie part of his consciousness, allowing her to separate and reform as her own person again. This could then be set up for a love triangle between, Annie, Starfire and Robin giving additional conflict within the group. Alas, it was not to be and after Bruce Time has clearly gone off the deep end with his creepy Batgirl and Batman obsession and that terrible Batman and Harley Quinn movie, the DCAU seems to be dead in the water outside of comics so we won't get a DCAU TT series.
Personally I would have a TT movie to be loosely based on the Geoff Johns run to establish the TT and YJ history, but I wouldn’t mind going this route. I think replacing Wally with Roy would be beneficial for Wally to have more involvement with the JL, but I wouldn’t mind if Wally would stop by from time to time as like a part timer. Heck since I personally would want to see the DCU JL to have the 90s roster, I can see both Wally and Kyle (who was a member of the titans for some time), hang out with the titans, to get away from the nonsense with dealing with their older teammates. I think having Garth as Tempest joining the team later on or as like part time members would be nice, and you could have it where he feels like he doesn’t belong to the surface world, and with a little help from his friends, he becomes more comfortable to the point where he joins the team fully. Cuz like Roy, I think Garth has been done dirty as well. Aside from Herald and Bumblebee, another character that I think should be added on later is Jericho. Jericho is a very interesting character especially since he’s the son of the team’s archenemy, and was a very integral member of the team during the Marv and George era, when he replaced Wally. I also think Omen is a pretty good character too, as I really liked her during the Dan Abbentt’s Titans run.
I believe the old vs. new dynamic would be a little difficult to follow, especially with flashbacks. I believe they will stick with a core team of 5, maybe 6, of which Damian Wayne is the closest thing to a certainty at this point. Since we're getting the show Paradise Lost exploring the lore of Themyscira, I believe Donna Troy is the 2nd most likely member. After that, my personal preference for the other 3 would be: Raven, Beast Boy, and Terra. The team would be led by Starfire alone because I don't like the idea of Dick Grayson leaving Bludhaven to chill at Titans Tower. No speedsters because I don't know how the DCU will manage the Flash family. Judas Contract is an iconic story but it needs setup. It helped the Teen Titans become DC's best-selling book, for a time. It would allow a rotating cast down the line, and I think casuals would be shocked by the reveal. However, you'd need to find really talented teen actors for Beast Boy and Terra. I agree 100% on the tone. Let the Teen Titans act like teens. I want to cringe.
i feel like the desire to move away from barry allen has largely just become a desire to REPLACE barry allen and sub in wally because he was the flash in the DCAU and people like the DCAU, ive never liked multiple superheroes having the same name (god forbid AT THE SAME TIME) so i do really wish wally west flash would be his own character as opposed to also being the flash with barry because it creates this annoying schism of which one you want in all media its kinda like the divide between hal jordan and john stewart as green lantern, except there you can easily have both and have hal be the corps lantern and john be the league lantern, while with barry and wally... it's a bit weirder, and personally i do prefer barry to be the main JL flash, so id rather see wally remain in the titans with dick since they do have a very close friendship in the comics anyway and id like to see that flourish in movies
Honestly, I really don't want to see the Wolfman and Perez team as the Titans for a Titans film. I love that team as much as the next person but there are other Titans teams out there that are really good but get way less focus. I would much rather see a film focusing on a mix of the Geoff Johns team and Young Justice team. Tim, Connor, Cassie, Bart, Virgil, Mia, M'gann, Kaldur, those guys. Yes, that's the Young Justice generation, but they're also Titans and much closer to actually being teens than Dick and his generation would be. This is TEEN Titans after all, most of the Wolfman and Perez team would like be in their 20s considering what we know about the DCU so far. They could still appear in the film serving a similar role to the one they serve in the Geoff Johns Teen Titans series, being mentors for the younger heroes, but I feel like we need to get away from them as the main team. There's also a lot of places you can put some of these other Wolfman and Perez Titans members. Nightwing and Roy could be with the Outsiders (Dick could also just be solo at this point), Donna could be dead (don't worry, she'll get better), Raven and Beast Boy could be in the Doom Patrol (Raven actually fits the team very well), Starfire could be in space as a solo hero or with a team like Omega Men or Legion (or put her in the Outsiders if we really want that love triangle), and Cyborg could be in the Justice League with Wally. They will always be the Titans and always come together when they need each other but they should be able to do things outside of being Titans which has always been a problem with Titans characters that aren't sidekicks, writers barely do anything with them that isn't having them on a Titans team, so it'd be cool to see the DCU actually give these characters more to do outside of the Titans.
I need the green lanterns in the dcu to be split with John being focused to the main justice league, guy being on earth but more street level and Kyle being part of the jlu but being more space focused with Hal how they were a duo in the dc rebirth Hal Jordan and the green lantern corps
Id really like to see them slowly add even newer members to the roster later on down the line and really mix it up. Like when I was growing up of course the new teen titans roster was popular but the team I read about in the comics was Tim, Cassie, Conner, and Bart. Itd be nice to see the torch passed on to them. I also really loved seeing my fave superhero static become part of the team and interrect with Lorena, Eddie, and Jamie and then eventually be a mission focused on helping him with his problems in his hometown. So there should be two torches passed once from Dick and the NTT to YJ then from Tims generation on to characters like Static Bombshell Kid Devil Aquagil and Blue Beetle. Maybe not tweak there ages to much cause I dont want there to be a huge jump in age for each generation but for this to be a gradual evolution.
If they do make it like the cartoon, I hope to GOD Raven is more likable in this universe than the animated universe. 2003 Raven is such an unlikable bitch.
I'd be super interested in seeing how you'd write in Jason Todd into this universe, relationships with other characters, status whether he's alive or dead at the current moment and how he'd come back etc. I see other people doing these types of videos but none hit like yours do, keep up the great work 💯
The ideal way for the DCU to do the Titans, in my opinion, would be to have the current team based on the Tim, Conner, Bart and Cassie lineup with the original Titans (the Fab Five + New Teen Titans) acting as their mentors, and then there can be prequel movies that tell the stories of how the original team got together
Honestly, I'd want Roy to be saved for a Red Hood and the Outlaws movie (yes, I'm the one guy who actually likes Trucker Hat Roy). I feel like a combination of the first and second rosters could work. Jason, Roy, and Artemis as the main roster, since Starfire kinda sucked in Outlaws anyway, and they might have future plans for Bizarro.
My crazy take ( not that crazy ) for Beast Boy is that he should totally start in doom patrol , I know he isn’t that know for Doom Patrol but doom patrol rules so that’s that
I've always imagined Batman and Superman being the same age but from what I understand the Batman DCU movie is gonna have Damian as Robin which I doubt means dick Grayson won't be a thing so... If Dick Grayson is already night wing and Batman is in his mid to late 30s than that kinda means Dick's relationship to Bruce has to change to fit
Nah. Gotta have Wally and Dick together. Their relationship is WAY more important than Wally's connection to the league. Especially in recent years. Put Barry on the league and let him pass away. Then have Wally take his place in an emotional scene where he has to face the fact that Barry is gone. I want Wally and Barry to know each other and to interact. I'm so tired of not getting a legit Flash Family.

5:19 Titans academy was held back by being 3 stories crammed into 1 book. It's like if all of the initial dawn of x books' storylines happened in one series. I don't know if Sheridan confirmed it, but was obvious to me that it was meant to be 3 books - titans, Teen titans, and titans academy I actually think if the titans movie works out, the 3rd movie could be titans academy in some way, since an extended universe would allow you to build up a big roster of teen heroes Or it could be used for a sequel to the 2000s show. It's a versatile idea
It's really easy (and has been done in comics) to tie Brother Blood and Trigon together. Making the church of Blood be about raising Trigon works great so I think that could work at some point.
