My hats off to you MN! I can’t imagine how long this took to build! I’m looking forward to seeing this painted up and revealed. Thanks for sharing your experience and great tips!👍🏾
I must say that their box art is of the highest quality! Looking at the vid now and have just seen those little wing-nuts. The carpet monster is hungry!
This is also my next acquisition, i am a WW1 enthusiast and have a small collection of various bits of British WW1 equipment and artifacts in a display case along with some models and figures to go along side 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes, I think you're right. I also think that because there is less choice in terms of subjects, manufacturers are more likely to product kits like this rather than just another variant of the same tank.
Hi Model Nerd, Nice job on the Omnibus. I'll be looking forward to seeing more updates. I really like MiniArt kits. I've built the civilian coal truck version and I am working on the new Armoured Lorrry right now. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
@@ModelNerd I really like it. The parts are really well molded with plenty of detail. It is my understanding, the Armoured Lorry is actually a converted double decker bus. They did not start out life as trucks. They were only used for a short time by the Royal Navy. The armour was so heavy so the trucks were very slow. There is only one photo in existence of an original vehicle. I think MiniArt did an amazing job of recreating the vehicle from the photo. Have a great day. Jeff
Great work on construction! I've been wanting to get this kit too and convert it into a pigeon loft. Will be looking forward to watching you paint this and the figures
I made the Miniart military lorry version of this kit and it was a great build. Miniart are not for the novice with those parts smaller than their sprue gate. Those unit numbers on the PE sheet look really good if you paint them and then rub the numbers and edging back to brass. Maybe not accurate but I am not into absolute accuracy. The open lorry is good as the spares box can be raided for cargo. I tend to use wire for hand rails and grab rails anyway as i don't think moulded plastic is quite round anyway. The wire just looks better and cleaner.
This was a good video 📹, ww1 stuff looks odd but at the time it was common place. Looking forward to seeing the painting. Should you have a French solider mixed with the British.....or even a German??
Hi there.Nice build. What is your take on miniart models.I think Not much of them. They do really good research for there models.I am doing a panzer 4from them, and it is a nightmare.I must say,rye field are better. But is my personal opinion.Take care and stay safe.
The ones I've built (this, Australian Lee) I have enjoyed but they aren't short or small projects. The biggest test is the soft plastic, which makes it easy to damage parts, I find.
I think that you are a bit harsh about the figures as the facial expressions and postures look really good. I agree that some parts of the accessories are hugely overscale - the crutches look more like scaffold poles and the stretcher shafts are not much better. The uniforms can be improved with painting, andI'm sure that you will find a way to replace or improve the overscale parts. Best wishes.
An interesting kit, looking forward to how it comes out. Always odd to think of them using old buses etc. Shows just how unprepared we were for the scale of WW1
Looking forward to see how this goes, I built one of the old Airfix kits back in the day, but these are a different class! Thanks for sharing. Cheers Bob 👍
Hey, I have a diorama idea. An abandoned tiger 1 that has slanted in the river with your universial carrier driving next to it. (If you want extra information abt the river, just mail me I'll send you a picture. I've gotten the inspiration from a river neer my home)
Greetings Nerd, thst certainly looks to be a great subject and the kit built into a great vehicle, looking forward to the next installment, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍👍
Mostly working on 40K and 30K (albeit historically influenced), I have to say: I could never, in a million years, think about doing this kit. It's insane, that's without the super detailing, like adding the brake cables and such.
I recently built a 1/35 truck not quite this level of complexity. No matter how detailed the kits, parts fragility and alignment can be problematic and tiny parts too difficult to handle, end up in the carpet or when mounted, make little difference relative to the effort involved. My own view is that CAD, improvements in mould engineering etc seem great but are pushing fragile styrene beyond its limits as a suitable medium. Manufacturers want to push the envelope to develop the market for experienced modellers with presumably increased profitability margin on big kits and parts count but I’m not certain this necessarily leads to more satisfying modelling. Just my personal opinion, I am sure others disagree but I’d be interested in views - polite of course please.
Mini-art is ridiculous there is no need for them to mold it quite little tiny parts that you have to TRY and first clean off the mould line. Secondly then try to put that ridiculously small part on the part of your building. Mini-art is way way way over engineered there is no need for it oh, don't get me wrong they are nice kits but there is no need for small my new tiny little part that could be moulded on, you did a great job Uncle model nerd
