Why grey WWI tyres is, that before the 1920ies the rubber of the tyres had a creme color, almost white or even a pink or lilac shade depending on the rubber used.
I think the colours you are suggesting are generally right for pneumatic tyres of the era, but I believe hard rubber tyres were a grey colour. Given how 'square' the tyres on the omnibus are, I'd guess they are hard rubber. Certainly looking at the archive photos the tyres appear to be a mid to dark grey colour. I think there was also a difference in British vs US designs.
Thanks :) I think it is 50-50 on the painting on sprue. It definitely has advantages, but I feel that I would also struggle to get a good glue joint or make a mess of things when trying to mask or clear the paint from the section to be glued.
@@ModelNerd I get that, but that was full scale and being this is a model and I a sure some soldiers removed a few to let air and light in. Just saying. It's still a kickass build...
Beautiful kit. Didn't the Somme area have very chalky soil? If so, there should be some chalky grime in there, too. And dried, dark blood on some of the seats 😮
That was a absolutely outstanding build, your painting and weathering was exceptional, congratulations on a job well done, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👌👍👌👍
Thank you. The figures were delayed a bit because I wasn't happy with the 3D print quality or my painting on the first lot. But hopefully they will look a bit different to the regular sets we often see :)
Really excellent job. I have a couple of the Airfix 1:32 scale “Old Bill Bus” kits ,one of the original 1966 releases and the 2014 rerelease.Haven’t made up my mind about building the 1966 kit but I will be building the 2014 kit. Your videos are the perfect guide. Incidentally I found dolls house flooring on eBay that is just about right for representing the planking on the sides of the bus in 1:32 scale.
Stellar job there, MN. The painting and weathering is looking really good....the spattering certainly has made a difference to the monotone camo scheme. Great call changing the the plastic to wooden slats for the side of the bus/ambulance....so much better and far more realistic (I guess it should...they're made of wood!)
