Very well thought out kit! I have several of those pieces, like the compass. I did similar when I first got my OHT, tho I included a keyring LED for light, and a BSA Hotspark ferro rod, both clipped to a small NiteIze S-clip carabiner, so I could take the accessories off the knife when they would get in the way. I use a somewhat longer wrist lanyard, so I can hang it from my belt into my pocket, so it doesn't fall into a horizontal lump. An interesting side note on a SAK for bushcraft, was the Outdoor Tool, a custom order for the Survival Outdoor School in Switzerland. It was essentially the Outrider with some modifications. The main blade was a OH non-serrated blade; the can opener was replaced by the inline awl from the 93mm Alox SAKs; and there was a needle groove under the scale, behind the corkscrew, like on some of the 91mm Plus scales. It was a limited batch, and sold out a few years ago. outdoorwerk.ch/Outdoor-Tool-standard I would be overjoyed if Victorinox made a factory OH Outrider.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. The S-biner is a good idea to take the stuff off the knife easily. Thanks for also sharing that Outdoor Tool. Very cool!

My only suggestion would be to remember to remove the lanyard before using the compass. It’s a little too close to the metal of the knife to be accurate without interference.

I can't fail to appreciate the irony of using a Swiss Army Knife to modify a Swiss Army Knife! Lol! Good tip on the needle storage. I have a heavy pin in each of the spaces on my red scaled knives. I'd like a needle as well. I sharpened the pins to make them really effective at digging out splinters. A needle with an eye large enough to accept one strand from the 550 cord would be very useful, and it doesn't add and weight or bulk. I use the screwdiver almost as much as I do the knife blade, so I have a strong preference for the Phillips head screwdriver over the corkscrew. But apparently that subject is almost as controversial as the blondes vs redheads argument! I just don't foresee having a wine emergency in the wild and needing a corkscrew. In a pinch, say you are unexpectedly entertaining a cute blonde, redhead, OR brunette; and you need to open a bottle of wine, just push your cork into the bottle with a stick. You impress your companion, PLUS they are also now obligated to remain with you long enough to finish the bottle since you can't reseal it! Or, using your Phillips head screwdriver, screw a 2 inch or longer screw into the cork about 3/4ths of the way. Then use that to pull the cork out. You can loop some para cord around the screw head if you don't have pliers or another way to pull on the screw. You added a canister with tinder, making the expensive tinder that fits into the corkscrew redundant. If I kept the corkscrew, I'd personally opt for the tiny screwdrivers or light that fits within the corkscrew. Just my 2 cents. While you're changing scales, I'd swap the other one also so that I'd have the tweezers. I like the compass and the braided Kevlar fishing line ideas. How about attaching your lanyard with a fishing snap swivel? The swivel part is also handy for use on a snare to keep an animal from twisting up your snare wire. Felix Imler added a section of diamond nail file between a couple of his knife blades, but the models that I have don't allow that. Thanks again for the video. I watched 3 of your vids in a row, all of which were well thought out and useful, so I just subbed!

Irony 🤔 or appropriate maybe. Alannis Morrisette is an expert in this debate :)

An excellent mod. You can always remove the other scale and add a couple fish hooks and some line inside.

I used the older model swiss army knife. I've had many different models. I lost everyone of them or they were stolen. I like the model you have it really makes up the short comings. The small blade was always a pain to get out, especially when your fingers are cold. I really like Victorianox saw. I'd really like a bit driver.

I really like your idea and what you did I have the Swiss army tracker which is issued to the German and Swiss and American army now I just wish they would do three things on the Swiss army tracker Make it a straight edge blade keep it one-handed assisted opening change the Phillips screwdriver into a corkscrew and put a space for a magnetized straight pin

Thanks! What you described is the Forrester but with the red scales. I can only think that in the army, as a general knife for all vocations, the Philips Screwdriver can help with equipment like signal sets, generators, and other gear. At least in my experience in the army here.
