A friend of mine moved into a house that was a former funeral home. It still had the casket elevator, the subway tiled basement, and a few other gems. I would love to find one of these for myself. Another great video! Now I'm addicted. Such a professional!
What a great video! I love how it was turned into something usable again after the funeral business. Kari, you are so great at all that you do. I enjoy watching your videos. You are always very classy about what you are doing but still very informative! You inspire me. Perhaps I will decide to work in the funeral business on my next career. Thank you!

Las Gatos California use to have a steak house in a gorgeous Victorian. " The Chart House" (It has a state historical marker) it was strange for me to see people enjoying meals with linen and candles burning.....if you go in the woodwork is solid and stunning, and if you had to use the restrooms it was in the basement ....it still had a strong smell of chemicals used in embalming ...they tried masking the smells with scented candles which didn't help much. [It was built in 1891 as a funeral home....and its HAUNTED!!!] The place was pretty darn creepy to me..and I doubt most of the customers even paid to much attention and had no clue what the building was originally used for. All they needed to do was look on the left side of the Victorian ...and see the black iron gate hidden in the bushes. Last I heard it was permanently closed...but that was years ago. Food establishments I believe shouldn't mix with spirits...alchohol or ghostly...in those places. Creepy knowing the plumbing was all the same ...I always wondered if the restaurant used the original refrigerators. I just GOOGLED and its renamed: THE PALMS Perhaps you could go and give us a tour....with a historian. That would be AWESOME!!!
I am in Arkansas and there is a day care center that was a funeral home. The 3-12 month old room is in the former prep room. They said that there are still drains in the floor. I dont think I could ever be ok with my child crawling around and picking up and putting things in their mouth from a floor where bodies were embalmed. I know that everything was cleaned and sanitized and all that but it's still a big NOPE for me.
