I love watching all your videos. Heath you are doing an awesome and amazing job, working in all types of weather conditions. You have a very strong work ethic. Jesus bless you and your family.
The bright side is your thin and healthy enough to fit through that window to get inside. And suuuo glad you care about your pet to keep him warm 🐾🐾bless you. ...
Were never as enthusiastic when it’s a temporary fix and even less so when we can’t decide when we want to do it.. A great plus side is it gives you chance to mull it over and build exactly what you want. 👍👍👍
My solution would be to dig out an area where I can place the water tank under ground- then build a structure around the tank that is strong enough to support the dirt that is put around the structure and the water tank - that way the tank would be under ground and not supporting any dirt around the tank
DUDE, one word for you GLOVES!!! OMG, much respect for you!!! I had to go get a cup of hot coffee, watching this made me cold!!! You have amazing determination and fortitude, well done!!! AND you recorded the progress!!! TY
@@RedPoppyRanch Sorry to hear that -- Yeah torn off fingernail is a painful one. I once had a spike go through a finger and tear the nail off. We don't feel much in the cold and actually makes working in it more dangerous. Glad we are not as cold here as you get, but you have warmer wx when its not winter, ...while we are slopping around in the mud - LOL. BTW - sure was a good clip of you breaking into your own home - - loved that - we've all been there -- ha ha. Amazing how far you have come - kudos my friend !
I'm glad to see you doing the water shed building. I hope you get a another key for your door because seeing you getting through a small window was funny. Love and blessing to you all
I Understand That U didnt do the roof done yet, But I hope theres gonna a Part 2 to see the rest. Great job in the cold weather with the snow beating down on you. Kudos
Extreme respect for working in those conditions. It had to be done, but many of us if given the choice would have been by the wood stove. Excited to see what's next!!
Keep the faith my friend....You'll have come a long way and with God's grace you will be in your home soon. By the way I have watched from the beginning and look forward to each new video. I do get miffed (really pissed) when some yahoos start trying to tell you how you should have done something...You have done a wonderful job and I do pray for you and the family . Keep on truckin
Nice work and essential for you being able to move the family in. Not sure I understand prioritizing the house siding in front of enclosing the water tank with insulation. One is for cosmetic appearance (yes/no?) while the other is life support as you have said often. I agree with others who suggest using heat tape on the tank and some of your solar power to stop the water from freezing. A thermostat would help conserve your solar power. Painting the tin black to absorb daytime heat from the sun might help some as well. The ultimate answer is dirt making an earth berm but that’s for next summer ...unless the weather gives you a break next week..if it does, perhaps that should be your first priority. Good luck with your progress and your choices. Fix that lock today!
That is looking really good I bet it is good enough for a long time. The rain will wash the tin siding off it will look even better. you might caulk the holes so it dont soak your insulation with water from rain.
Working outside in the winter is tuff for everyone. What i see is a shed where there was none. Maybe focusing on “I got it done” and Ive got a fans of drinking their coffee enjoying every 2 by 4 go up. Great progress.
For someone who works alone most of the time you accomplish a lot of work. Prayer has power over the enemy on those days when the world is fighting against you. That reminder is as much for you as it is for me. There something that I do when we are moving into another home, I walk the boundaries of the property and pray over it. That the enemy would not have any power over that land or my family, that all curses on that land would be removed, that my home would be a place of peace, rest and have a loving atmosphere. Then I seal it in the name of the King of King and the Lord of Lords I call him Yeshua /Jesus . This is just something that I was taught to do, so I'm just passing it on.
So glad you are getting the tank shed built...it has been worrying me that it would not be in time. There is a product called carbon fibre heating wire that uses only about 3-4 watts per meter. It can be powered by DC (12v) and could really help with against freezing issues both in & around the house.
For just slapping that together, it looks awesome. I like the idea of a earth building. Those are very efficient and maintain heat nicely. Looking forward to the next part, thanks for sharing
Happy to hear you were able to complete some of what you wanted. Sometimes things don’t work out the way you want, just go with flow. No need in getting upset . It will not change the outcome. Have faith and stay strong. Blessings to you and the family
Hang in there!!! Sometimes things just dont go the way you plan. I am trying to get 3 cords of wood stacked this week, and its got my truck blocked in the carport. So rain is coming on Thursday with a dose of wintery stuff on Sunday. 3 days to get it done plus my 71st birthday is on that Sunday too!!! LOL You might put a piece of tape on that bottom door lock too!!!
Beat me to it, I agree, put some packing tape over the deadbolt. That should keep it from flying out. Luckily mine always does it when I am opening the door, not closing it. So I haven't been locked out once.
Great stuff. I have been struggling with the ideas in regards to what were going to do with our tanks. I have come to the conclusion a large garage that can house two tanks, food storage and the Jeep is the best way. This way I can use a second wood stove to simply heat everything else but the house. Unfortunately we will need to use a pump for the water but it will be so close to the house some simple heat wrap for the hose will prevent freezing. Having a huge garage next to our tiny house might look a little strange but functionally, it seem like the biggest bang for our buck. Good luck with the rest of your projects before the cold long winter.
@@lucasmol1695 I have "stolen" the idea for a rainwater catchment system. It will be about half of the catchment surface that handeeman here on RU-vid has made. The "roof" itself will be closer to the house and elevated.
A part of my philosophy has long embraced a Zen thought -- that one must taste the bitter to appreciate the sweet. Failures, or setbacks, or having something working against you only helps to make your success that much greater.
You have done a wonderful job as always well done. I pray that you all can move in as soon as possible. I love watching you work. There is nothing wrong about the shed you built for the tank its brilliant. Be kind to yourself you are a good man that works hard for your family. God bless
I must admit that you are doing a great job in building your home. Showing the work in a impressive and fast way. Not too much talking like f.e. " pure living for life " !
Ninja Heath ... you are doing fine. From the Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick. Since you don't really need the water yet, drain the tank. As you know, frozen pipes and semi frozen tanks are no fun. Without a doubt, you will require heat tracing at some point, especially on the outlet pipe and all around the tank. Picture the tank at 4 am some super cold morning with a strong North wind blowing. You will have to get 120 Volt power up there to power up some heat tapes. Heat Tapes don't draw a lot of current, but the tank is quite far from your panel. I think 12-2 wiring would be too light, but might work for the winter, and get you by. Love the videos, and like your wife's name ... Cedar. We all want to know how she is planning her house.
If it was easy anyone could do it but it isn’t and they can’t .keep at it heath one day you will look back at this and smile 🤣.Best wishes from Scotland.
Just for extra measure you could throw a few used concrete blankets over the tank, if your worried there easy to find and relatively cheap. Just a thought... press on.
Hi..i watched all your video.. you're brave and strong man you build this house alone by yourself. What a proud.Bravo and always the best for you and family.God bless
Great idea. No better and more permanent insulator than Mother Earth. Burry it all including the pipes to the house. Will keep the water nice and cool in the hot summer.
It should work. Maybe wrap the water tank with însulation‼️ That would help the tank hold in the temp from the water coming from the ground. This water must never freeze, play it safe, over insulate just to be safe. GOOD LUCK. PS, I think the shed looks ok, put a solid roof on it, snow is heavy‼️ Vinny 🇺🇸
Glad to see you're getting the shed put up. So, no solar panel driven heat source for the shed? Will you go up and clear the snow from the shed roof to help it stay the course? Hopefully, you will film the rest of the water shed for us, but if not, I understand. The work goes a bit quicker if you're not tending to camera equipment. Be safe out there, Heath. Getting home to those you love is more important than a shed or tank. God bless and keep you safe.
Ahahaahah lol! I understand the stress of your week but you having to cut the Tyvek and climb in a window frame was hilarious! I think a lot of us had to break into our own home at some point ahahahah.. good work
Awesome! Another worry almost behind you with the water shed. On to the siding next and then its inside for the winter. Continued good thoughts for you and your family. Its going to be a long winter.
Very nice. Never seen someone frame a building horizontally before but it makes sense for the metal siding you are using. Hope this keep the water pipes from freezing. :)
your height is also a blessing...there's so much you've been able to do quicker because you're tall. I would've had to unscrew the door or a window to get in...lol.
Great video Heath. I love what you and your neighbors are doing together. Its great to see all the progress you have made. Best wishes to you and your family this holiday season.
Love your videos!!! So soothing to hear your voice, and I love your outlook on life and family! I donated a small token to you for Christmas for you and your family. Merry Christmas to all of you!!
I feel your pain about the water. I have a pot of rain water warming up on the kerosene heater so I can wash some dishes. And, you reminded me, I have to finish insulating upstairs, especially since we have a cold snap coming this week.
Heath, You may think you have alot of negative things going on, but I have noticed you grow from 50K SUBSCRIBERS to 71K! That's amazing! At 100K I hope you do another live feed with your wife. Congrats on the accomplishments so far! Just think, In 4 months Winter will be pretty much over!
Tire chains for the truck seems like a good investment before the snow gets to bad. You may of been able to drive up that hill if you had them. Chains on the atv you could get up it with no problem use to do it all the time with mine, though I'm not sure how good if you tried towing stuff up .
As far as being able to get up and down the hill and around your property with snow and ice.. Maybe think about setting up your quad with grousers. Most track dozers have them unless they are running street pads..
