Ingredients:
250g sliced beef
1 sliced onion
1 sliced carrot
4 sliced shiitake mushrooms
1 sliced leek
1/2 sliced chilli
2 tbsp mother sauce
1 tbsp light soya sauce
1 tbsp corn flour
1 tsp sesame oil
A handful of sesame seeds
Make the mother sauce first by blending 1 yellow pear, 1 medium onion, 40g peeled garlic, 2 stalks leek, 180ml light soy sauce, 1/4 honey and 1 tsp black pepper into a saucy paste. Store in a glass jar and refrigerate for 1 day.
Marinate 250g slice beef with 2 tbsp mother sauce, 1 tbsp light soya sauce, 1 tbsp corn flour and 1 tbsp sesame oil. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Drizzle a few tsp of sesame oil into a cast iron pan and heat up the oil. Once the oil is hot, add 1 slice onion, 1 sliced carrot and 4 sliced shiitake mushrooms.
Sauté for a few minutes until the vegetables are slight soft. Add the marinated beef slices and brown the beef.
Once the beef is cooked and browned, sprinkle some sesame seeds and drizzle 1 tsp sesame oil. Mix well.
Garnish with sliced leeks and chilli and we highly recommend serving it as it is on the cast iron pan for a nicer presentation.
And it is done, a delicious savoury and sweet Korean stir fried beef.
