@@janivirtanen2396 I distinctly remember that in one of the custom cards reviews Trump very strongly argued that cards which can destroy enemy’s win condition via burning with no down sides is the worst design ever and could never be implemented in Hearthstone due to it being uninteractive and not counterable. Looks like they did not heed to this advice.

Dang, Tickatus. I feel like that card goes against design decisions they made in the past to curb mill decks. The mechanic takes the fun out of the game IMO.

It's a card that hyper punishes greed and control decks. It basically means warlock will for the forseeable future be the king of control just by forcing mills and gutting out a chunk of the opponents deck. The payoff is how the deck can, and does have a harder time against aggro decks, as well as value tempo decks like libram paladin. For every game you see a tickatus ruin someone, don't forget there are going to be just as many where playing tickatus was irrelevant.

@@Crawver Very true. It would be frustrating to see the meta going forward be dominated by mill control and rushdown decks. I’ll look into counters for this.

@@Crawver even without tikitus Id say Warlock has the best control rn. It has a lot of removal for the early and late game, and If you add Rustwix and Kenrathad you have a really good late game package. There are even games where I have tickitus in hand and havent played it because there wasnt a good time for it. It's a powerful card, but not the end all be all. Coldlight seer still takes the cake in terms of mill kings.

@@Crawver That's true, but the huge disparity in matchup percentage is incredibly bad for the game. Having a deck instantly win against any control deck while also losing most of the time against tempo decks is horrible balancing.

@@Mouse_Librarian Not really, that's just what the heaviest control decks always have done. Back when wallet warrior was a thing at launch, it would lose to midrange decks, but win most other matchups. That is what the heaviest control decks always have done, and always will do.

@@Mouse_Librarian that’s my point. If you play a deck with 0 aggressive cards then you shouldn’t expect to defeat decks that are built to counter control. I don’t know why low rank players always think control warlock is good. That’s just empirically not true - it certainly isn’t an auto win vs all slower matchups and only had a ~50% win rate at competitive ranks.

Turtle mage was nerfed because of how negatively it impacted the overall health of the game and that deck had a less than 50% winrate. Tikatus has the exact same problem. The overall winrate doesn't matter if the deck is almost impossible to lose to control decks.

its basically a combo deck, just it doesnt really kill you and doesnt work against aggro... if you've ever played that deck, you'll know its pretty fair, trump was just really unlucky that first game, tickatus 9 and y'shaarj 10 with already corrupted and played both cascading disasters is THE god draw for warlock... against control at least, against aggro that hand just dies lol

@@phantom3969 There's a reason mill rogue got taken away (or put into wild where nothing matters) and it's the exact same reason Tickatus is such a hated card. Having your cards burned with 0 interaction on your side is unfun. Nobody builds a 30 card deck and thinks it's fun to start a game with 10 of them missing immediately. 10 RANDOM ones btw. It's fun when you discard altar of fires but when you lose every single win con in your deck it's not

@@champ2501 I don't think it's worth crafting. It was good last expansion but I believe it will rotate at next expansion not entirely sure. Warrior is worth experimenting with but you could also just run athletic studies and get kargath off of that and you don't need to run him lol

I stopped playing constructed long time ago. I saw new expansion and release of core set, decided to come back and try out fun decks, only to get matchups with make- people-puke-warlock and turn 2-win-the-game-mage. Thanks blizzard, guess I'll go back to battlegrounds.
