As an owner of a bulldog, I can say they think they’re invincible. Mine tried taking on 2 German Shepherds at once but failed when she got stuck on her back.
@Blass they think they are. Mine tries jumping off the bed, chair or table like a goat. She even climbs things just to get a good view on everything. She really thinks she’s a goat.
I was dog sitting a English bull dog and a English mastiff. They would get into it and I’d have to break them up. Scary at first but I learned to grab the bulldogs rear legs pick up and pull him away. Lol
@@genesispuredeaf2390 What a weird thing to say on a nice genuine comment. You can get “attacked” by your younger sibling jumping out at you from a pile of leaves. “Apparently you have never seen an actual attack.” What a clown thing to say over the internet🤡
@@tip3593 oh, I see….you don’t like being called out for be hyperbolic (if you don’t know the word….look it up). So let me see if it works better if I simply call you a drama Queen (like when a younger sibling jumps out of a pile of leaves…)
@@lisam4503 My lab does the same jump! I'd like to try her at dock diving, but I don't know if she likes to swim since the lake has been frozen since October (I live in Montana).
There is only one type that is better. A cross breed from German Shepherd and Labrador. Those give the absolute best dog's. Just make sure none have hip problems from the start. Like the old german Labrador that are wider and bigger, and not formel one lab's.
I think he has done this before, kept biting his sagging cheeks, knocked him on his back. It is like he already knew Superman's weakness was Kryptonite
My grand parents had a lab/shepard mix. It had the intelligence of a lab and were calm as a shepard. It reached 16 years of age. Small children were able to play hard with it, and if you told it to sit and stay, not even food would distract it. It was the perfect dog. It was as if was born trained. Best dog to date.
Funny that the bulldog attempted that and the lab didn’t seem to mind until he put his full weight on him. What a cool and comical interaction to capture on video.
Ever stuff it in the gap between the couch upside down? I do that to my mates frenchie, it just accepts its been the victim of a cruel joke and lays there like a baby.
A little late to this party, but fifteen years ago one of the best dogs I ever had (and I've been very fortunate to have what I consider nothing but great dogs) was a standard poodle. And one of his favorite toys in the world was a 2 Liter soda bottle. Even a few years into having him I'm really not sure how that got started, but he sure loved to play with them.
People tend to underestimate the standard poodle but they're one of the smartest and fearless breeds out there. Back in the early 70s West Midlands Police trialled them as police dogs but found that because most people only knew of the breed as a fluffy show dog they weren't taken seriously. One of my customers has 5 of them, fantastic dogs.
I’ve had 3 bulldogs. They’re beautiful. What we have here is 2 of the nicest natured breeds of dogs having a bit of playful fun. 2 obviously well cared for and loved animals. A credit to their owners. Lovely video 😊
My blk lab is 14, and still acts like a puppy. She is blind, but that didn't slow her down very much. She can still find the stick I throw in the ocean.
Labs have a ridiculous amount of power and strength despite their friendly nature. They are perhaps the greatest dogs ever and it takes a lot of deliberate evil to make them mad - but make them mad and you'll see the dark side of a killer.
I put that in a comment. My lab loved to play fight when younger. There was a line though. If a dog went to attack him that dog was in trouble. I saw him correct a dog twice his size and fast. My lab was a walking muscle. I kept him really active and I had to because he had so much energy to burn off.
yes because historically they were originally bred by Labrador and or British ocean fishermen to retrieve the massive nets. They’d literally toss em off the side of the ship or the dog’d just jump off the side of the ship to go get the nets. Powerful for sure!
man your black lab is an absolute demon, and i mean that in the best way possible. he knows the limits and pushes them a little bit for fun, very athletic dog. imagine that dude if he really had to go full out.
My lab grew up play fighting with a Rottweiler. He would wear out that Rotweiller and want to keep going hours after the Rotweiller was done with it. From playing with the Rotweiller it also made my Lab not one another dog would be wise to attack. If you've ever seen a picture of the really muscular and athletic labs that is how mine was when younger. He would never start a fight with another dog but if they did with him the regret came pretty quick. He could go from sitting to jumping over 6 feet straight up in the air. The athletism he had was something to behold.
I hate to be that guy talking bout oh yeah well my dog, but I do like to talk about my dog. A rescue bull terrier mix, right, and we at the dog park and she was doing so well because I could see how she was learning how to play with the other dogs because they were coming after her and she was backing off and defending which was just great because she was engaged and exercising whereas before the shepherds and labradoodles and huskies and such would just avoid her and she would be like c’mon guys pay attention to me on her short little legs, but it seemed like she had learned to be the target and she was getting much more interaction. It all came to a crashing end when these two little unathletic dogs came in and she decided to collect one of them under her, it was a nightmare and the second time it has happened. I don’t know if it is more a game to her or she felt disrespected, but the owner mentioned calling the cops. Anyway, she doesn’t have a malicious nature, I am more worried that she would get bit, like I have peroxide yano, but how would she react to getting bit Yano?
I have a chocolate lab and I love her. She is larger than the average lab, stand a good 3 inches taller than other labs and weights more. She's pure lab though. She has her breaking point with other dogs, but never with the intend to hurt. Mostly, she lays on top of them with all 100 lbs and won't let them get up. One of the best dogs I have ever had, but kind of a tank. They were clearly both playing with each other and having fun.
To be as good natured as Labs are they are extremely powerful animals. I had to visit my doctor twice for playing tug of war with my 110 lb Lab. He is a real sweetie.
Fat thang rolled over couldn't hardly get up!!! Lol. Too cute. I just lost 10 year old Bulldog I enjoy coming to youtube to see others. My bullie look just like yours too.
@@PlatinumHustle They are the best breed. I'm totally biased. Love all dogs, but Wicked gets it. And Platinum too. 12.5 years and so deeply embedded in my heart she's a part of it.
That was actually quite playful from both sides. You should see the hour long evening friendly wrestling matches between my Frenchies! Visitors always think they are in a death match as there is always a lot of energy and howling and growling involved.
@@NK-qn6pq wow. Your ego was so butt hurt by that comment that you had to clap back with that snarky response. "No. MY dog is bigger and badder and everything your dog is and more! Wwhhaaaaaaaaa!" Pathetic.
@@sinisterthoughts2896 haha I haven't. They're apparently quite tenacious? I just saw the King Clarence video with his side of the story - apparently the only real solution is to steal his doggy girlfriend 😜
Bullie Boy: "SNEAK ATTACK!" Labby: "What? Hey!" Bullie Boy: "Today I shall assert my dominance as top dog AND take your toy! This is the day of my ascension! And the day of your recko-" Labby knocks Bullie on his back. The plump potatter struggles to get up. Labby: "You were saying?" Bullie Boy: "You have won the battle, BUT NOT THE WAR!"
He was getting into the wrestler’s position where the one guy is kneeling on all fours and the other guy is on his back. The lab knew the instant reversal move! 1 point for the lab!
This is very similar to the battles we have in our house. He thinks he’s a tough guy till our lab mix stands up and then he’s oversized and out maneuvered very quickly.
A friend’s black Lab used to enjoy playing the tug-of-war game. To him, playing was more important than winning. If he managed to get the toy away from me, he would bring it back and lean his head against my leg, to ask me to play some more.
At first i felt sorry for the Lab with the way the Bulldog went and got on top of him, but then when the Lab got up and kinda smashed the bulldog over i realised the only way to beat that devil is by holding him down. Well done Bully even tho you lost.
We had a golden lab/St Bernard cross ages ago - basically a big muscular total goofball Lab with markings, very gentle creature and my good buddy when I was 11-12 yrs old.
Lab owner and lover here. I could have scripted this one. Lab is like: “I’ve got a plastic bottle. Look at me and my bottle.” Bulldog starts the dominance hump dance. Lab’s attention, like a good case of ADHD, switches to, “You want to dance big boy….let’s play”. Then 10 seconds later, Lab’s brain switches back…”look it’s my bottle.” We have had ‘em for 30 years. Just love ‘em. The young ones just make you laugh and smile.
This lab looks just like my lab mix right down to the red collar! Jessie looks purebred, but is only 19" at the shoulder and 50 lbs (maybe a mini lab?). She also likes to play with soda bottles and gallon milk jugs, especially if I put a few treats in one.
This s a lot like life. Sometimes youre the bulldog, sometimes youre the lab. Eitherway, youre fighting over a empty plastic bottle for the entertainment of your masters.
