Officials in New York City want people to know that if you have an illegal dirt bike or off road vehicle, the NYPD will crush it. Dozens of confiscated vehicles were run over and destroyed by bulldozers in a demonstration. Police say this year it expects to confiscate 3,000 dirt bikes and off-road vehicles. They say these vehicles lack the safety features that make them suitable for use around the city. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more. #InsideEdition

The honest reason is that they auction it off. Then people come back to the city with the same auctioned off bike. Then the police confiscates it again. This hassle of a process repeats over and over. Until the police had enough and decided to crush them to end the loop. That’s the only reason I see why.

They could’ve just added the parts to make them legal and resold them but I guess they don’t have any respect for the manufacturers hard work building those engines..... what a waste of money

Point your blame where it belongs. This wasn't the law enforcement's fault. This was that idiot mayor they elected. He was the one chanting defund the police. Took 1 billion dollars from the police force and put in his pocket. Countless NYPD officers without jobs, crime rate now higher than it's ever been.

The people who died on them... it wasn't lack of mirrors I can promise you that. So what made the street legal moped so illegal it needed to be crushed? I highly doubt some shlub was cruising his atv to work in downtown New York.... Probably doing a little test and tune before hauling on a trailer hundreds of miles from home to be sure it was running properly and Paul Blart was in his nieborhood. Senseless!
