The "LETSSSSS GOOOOO" at the beginning of the song used to be my alarm sound. It got to the point I either change my alarm or had to stop listening to this song lmao
i still listen to this song today, i'm 32 now, i used to listen to this back in middle school back in 2006. i saw bullet for my valentine in concert and avengeded sevenfold, along with steel panther, and queensryche and stayed in the same hotel as them, so i got to hang out and take pictures.
I grew up on hardcore punk, so I remember when this came out, some people hated on it because of the rockstar/big time vibes that BFMV gave off. But I always thought they were fun, with a nice blend of tender emotion and also energy, especially if you see them live. 2005 was an awesome time in my life. I miss those days, but at the same time I'm glad they're behind me, because they were confusing as well
I haven’t heard this song in a long time!! 😂 Love it!! You should definitely check out Diary of Jane! It’s a great one too!! 🥰 Love seeing 2 of my favorites together!! I think it’s awesome and I’m loving all the new content you both are working so hard to produce for us!! Many Thanks & Much Love!! ❤
I spent 300 dollars for a vip ticket to breaking benjamin. I got to meet the whole band. I talked to them for a few minutes. I also got a picture that is on my Facebook. I also got an autographed poster. I had a back stage pass. It was expensive but worth it
This was my entire college years (if I’d gone to college anyway). I was a senior in high school/just out of high school when this stuff was popular and it was EVERYWHERE.
Thank you for reacting to bullet for my Valentine one of my favorite bands i got see them perform live at a avenged sevenfold and breaking benjamin concert. Love your reactions black pegasus thank you for putting out so many reactions in a short amount of time.
Not to "Throw off a little bit" but "scream and sing" are best referred to as melodic/clean and distorted/dirty. Just a helpful tip to avoid the haters.
God damn, this is throwing me back to my childhood, like riding the bus to school 14 years ago. Love bfmv, avenged is goated too. Highly recommend the bfmv x pendulum song Halo. Insanely good song.
This song was massive when it came out in 2008... was surprised when they came to South Africa in 2013... great performance... Ps. Watch Avenge Seven Fold.. also a very great band....
Despite being a big metalcore listener i never heard this song before 2020 when i went to the stripclub and watched this blue hair goth chick do a stage dance to this song Just got to see them live the other week and they are olddd but they still rock out, this song went hard live
Think it came out in like 05. This whole cd (the poison) is still to this day one of my top of all time. Used to blare it nonstop when I was in high school! 🤘🏻😈🤘🏻 this early metalcore made me!....another one is stand up and scream by asking Alexandria, the fact you know all these is badass @anthonyray....you NEED to show him AA
I’m 45 and grew up on rap, techno, and industrial metal in the ‘90s. In the 2000s til now I’ve really been feeling metal core and of course rap, although not a mumble rap fan. Great content!!
You have to do Avenged reaction for sure! They have so many amazing songs! Love seeing Anthony Ray on your reactions. I am lucky enough to listen to anything and everything where I listen country, rock and rap and love it all! Keep up the hard work my man!
If you liked the mix of screams and singing, you might like a band called Soilwork. They were one of the Scandinavian metal bands that had a big influence on the style of metalcore that you hear in this song. Try songs from Soilwork like Nerve or Stabbing The Drama and you will really see the influence I think. And for some background, the genre of this song is called "metalcore", which is a fusion of "hardcore punk" and "melodic death metal". The driving power cord choruses in here are more from the punk side, and the more technical harmonized guitar parts are more from the melodeath side.
All those bands are awesome that Anthony mentioned. Avenged Sevenfold is amazing, try "Critically Acclaimed". Asking Alexandria made a song with King ISO and Tech N9ne right before he signed to Strange Music called "I won't quit". BP you should check out some Pop goes Punk (name is deceiving) which has bunches of bands redo hip-hop songs but there are a whole slew of those Genre goes Genre series. There's quite a few really big songs that transform under a new genre.
Wow i was not expecting rhis reaction! I love this band. This is the first metal band i got into before metallica and they got me through middle school and high school. This song is mine and a buddies theme song. First song we listen to when we get together and its a blast everytime! Seem them live too and such a banger live!
Would love to see you check out more BFMV. They are where I got my start in listening to metal music. It's crazy that Asking Alexandria were brought up and how you can see their influence because Asking Alexandria was where I went to after Bullet For My Valentine. Both bands are/were very melodic in their early albums.
One of the greatest metal songs to ever exist. Bullet, Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium, were absolutely for the genre amazing during the 2000s.
My nostalgia playlist: Bullet for my valentine, Rise Against, Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, Killswitch Engage, Bring me the Horizon, Disturbed, Evenessense, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Fallout Boy, My Chemical Romance, A day to remember, the blackout, Linkin Park. Its a vibe man and when it's on shit gets done.
FUCK YES!! THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING! Great rabbit hole to head down, tons to check out. My wife and I FINALLY got to see these guys live, we've both been fans since the beginning. It was a killer fucking show!!! Just perfection fr. Also, Avenged Sevenfold are so, so good, been a fan of theirs since the beginning too. Actually them and Bullet are mine and my wife's top 2 favorite bands. It's hard to pick favorites too, we listen to a lot of really good bands 🤘 Here's a starter list~ *Bullet For My Valentine* -Hearts Burst into Fire -The Poison -All These Things I Hate -A Place Where You Belong -Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow -Cries in Vein -Bittersweet Memories -Pretty On the Outside -Tears Don't Fall Part 2 ... Bro there's so many... That doesn't even scratch the surface... I think I'll save the Avenged Sevenfold list for your first reaction on then. 🤘 Keep rocking out man! 🤘
Loved ur reaction guys. U mentioned country, I found someone u should react to. His name is HARDY. He's different and I think u will like him. Older stuff is country, but his newest album is awesome. Try it out.❤❤
7:00 Funny you mention Asking Alexandria. I saw them open for The Used i think in 2009. I didn't give them enough credit back then because their live show (then) was kinda weak. But I was wrong. They blew up and are on our rock station a lot. BVB Opened for A7X in i think 2010 and the stand-out moment for them was their cover of "rebel yell". I had literally never heard of either of them before then. I never thought they'd grow as much as they did. Its still fun to think "I saw them before they were big". I had literally never heard of either of them before then.
Definitely recommend checking out Avenged Sevenfold next. Here are a few I'd suggest: "Bat Country" - their first big hit, and just a crazy song with so many different styles blended into one banger "Beast and the Harlot" - another one of their earlier hits with a sleezy/dirty guitar riff through the verses, super catchy chorus, and crazy guitar solo "Gunslinger" - an underrated gem in their catalogue, written from the POV of a soldier away at war "Shepard of Fire" - from their album that was an ode to the classic metal of the 80s, and just a big, catchy ass song
BP. Latching onto your comment of "i like screaming then singing" because that was my gateway into screaming stuff too. Bullet for my valentine, alexisonfire and A day to remember are all bands that do similar. Mixing the melody of singing with the aggression in a screaming hook works really well. BFMV hold a special place for me because theyre from Wales.
Takes me right back, big time. Bullet for my valentine was right up there with Trivium, another band you should check out because they had a Metallica vibe :) Ah saw some of them on Pukkelpop in Belgium.
Avenged Sevenfold is good. The band Cold is real good too, I would say start with the song Bleed from them. Another good band is Type O Negative, anything from them is fire bro. Him - Wings of a Butterfly is another fire song. I could probably fill up a book of different songs and bands to check out bro
As a musician myself, I listen less to the music like I want to make because it's really hard to have new ideas and be original if you only listen to the genre you are in. You start to sound like everything else. You can pull melodies from anything and apply to yourself. I could talk forever about music lol.
