You can hold left shift while viewing weapon stats to compare and see current damage vs base damage. Multiply by aps and you'll have your dps. I realize you know the math, but just wanted to point this out just in case you didn't know about holding left shift.

There are other factors to consider too, such as Traits. Sometimes a faster APS weapon may be better if you take “every X attack is a crit or double damage” Also, attack pattern is a massive factor. Some weapons are better than they look on paper by their attack pattern.

Hardcore mode is still kinda here. In the campfire, you can enable/disable blessings as you choose!

I love sometimes I’m like “reto is crushing it” and i hear you say immediately afterwards say “ my dps is garbage” and i just think that you’re so much better at these games than me.

Broken Hero Sword is pretty OP, especially if you can get your attack speed scaling. Hero is easiest for upgrading Hero Sword because you can re-roll boss rooms to get earlier mithril. One thing I love about this game is how strong hybrid builds are. I tend to take all stat rooms because leveling faster and getting traits early will lead to smoother runs and most of the Int traits are pretty strong even for melee and ranged characters. Like taking Glass Cannon (int) on a Dex-based character like Ranger that evades a hit every room. Hardcore mode is coming back. Temporarily removed.

I wasn't sure I would love this game because mouse and keyboard for bullet hell twinstick shooters is beyond my aging brain. The controller support for this game though is incredible. Generous auto-aim and lock-on make hitting moving targets pretty easy and allows me to focus a bit more on the bullet hell aspect. I was able to get to the final boss on my second run last night. This really take a lot of the great things about games like Gungeon and compresses into a very pure form. I didn't even realize about the hidden power crystals but I had to pull myself away from the computer to go to sleep last night.

Hardcore mode has been replaced with the option to individually disable blessings. Also, Cinder modifiers do some pretty zany things later into the levels, so I'd highly recommend playing with them.

19:15 the tutorial explain you can use numbered buttons to activate inventory items, if the inventory item is a weapon it equips it, so you can effectively hot swap with a hotkey like you suggested

u can swap weapon now - it was the numer 1,2 &,3 for the 1st, second and third item in the bag

I think the sniper got ya on that MD fight. It’s quite difficult to get those dash-reloads off. Something like Holy Bible or Hero Sword helps. You got close though!

This video just made me buy the game and start my first run while watching on 2nd monitor :D Neat little game, though if i account for the possibility of beating the "death" (classic, not mega since no pylons available in first run) i have to say, without having any upgrades it can be pretty "easy".

I find that melee still kinda sucks, I wind up finding better ranged weapons and using them by the end of melee runs. In one of my runs I found what looked like a red hoodie? I figured that it was Retro's! Not the first time I've been surprised in a game by the hoodie :D

Not yet at least. It rerolls a trait and spawns Mega Death instead of Death.

It used to apply a special enchantment to your weapon that made you deal 20% damage against Mega Death - but enchantments were recently reworked and majorly buffed so for the time being it's a "premium" perk reroll - the only other way in the game to reroll a perk is randomly through an Obsidian Dice.
